You can't blame Intel for everything. Apple could have updated the design like they did with the Mac Pro to make it a worthwhile update but they chose not to.

Why would they release a redesign for a design that is only 2 years old and without a Media Event Keynote announcement?

The quad core CPUs are 47W vs 27W for the dual core. There isn't the space in the 13" for the additional 20W of cooling.

Need a quad - buy the 15".

The CPUs exist, the limitation though is the 13" design. You cannot blame intel for cooling apple designed for the 13"

use your Visa or Discover card, I think they add extended warranty?
If I was going to buy one I would just wait a little bit and get it from the John Lewis department store as they give a 2 (or sometimes 3) year warranty as standard. Just means I can't use the Apple Store for repairs which is a pain when I'm travelling. I still think Apple are just being plain greedy with their 1 year warranty.

Tiny hard drives still
Ridiculous.
Need Fusion Drive as standard in all mbp's.

Erm...these are the standard sizes for flash storage. If you want more buy more in the CTO option.

Are you expecting them to give you 1TB of flash storage as standard or something? in what reality will that happen. SSDs still cost more than HDDs

What is the weight of the 15" models? Apple only upgraded the Store page but not the product specifications page.

Maybe in 2 years there will be 1T standard at least for 15"

Why are the majority of people on here blaming Apple for the lack of updates? It's Intel's fault, it's really as simple as that.

Just be grateful that Apple are updating them and stop being grumpy.

well, thats partly true. They could give users the geforce 800 serie though, at least as a BTO.
For me, if Apple released a new iMac with the latest Haswell and the 800 serie I would actually upgrade. Even if it would be a sad update.

Anyway, yet another silent boring day in the apple universe. (and yes, intel's much to blame for this)

I think Apple is being really fair. They dropped the price tag by $200, added 16GBs of RAM as default and didn't update the GPU. An updated GPU architecture would require a logic board redesign which Apple only likes to do when the CPU architecture changes. So this makes a lot of sense in my opinion.

Yes this year will be a 4K thunderbolt display or 4K iMAC OR both

----------

Thats a joke! come on Apple... 32GB please

32Gb you have in iMAC, for 64 GB or 128GB ram you have in MAC PRO
so you have alternatives on Apple products based on what you need
