zoom into the map until the binoculars appear on the upper right hand corner.
Sadly, appears to have limited availability at present.

I had to go to Trafalgar Square in central London to get a location where it works. (Maybe lots of other places, but not where I live. Nor several other places I tried.)

I noticed today using apple maps now picked up upcoming traffic lights, speed cameras, and much greater detail in the maps. Much welcomed in the UK 👍🏼

'Apple Maps‌ is the best way to explore and navigate the world' - surely he was meant to say 'Google Maps' there... Apple's UK maps are still inaccurate and incomplete unfortunately. Additionally, there are still no cycle routes and when I'm using the pedestrian mode when cycling it keeps switching to driving mode. There is no way of turning this auto switch 'feature' off. I love the syncing to my Apple watch and navigational directions but absolutely hate the above!

Ouch... seems like removal of mini roundabouts across the UK was a deliberate choice. Fair enough.
I've seen this and it's so bad! It throws off accurate directions, especially at junctions with double mini-roundabouts. It's such poor data collection.

I noticed this a couple of days back. The cartography has been updated. Looks nicer. Will have to test out how much better it is via CarPlay when I next go somewhere.
It's really surprised me. There are so many errors. Misplaced POI locations and incorrect road structure on mini-roundabouts. They no longer show up as roundabouts but are just continuation of roads. It throws off directions

Apple's updated Maps app provides faster and more accurate navigation and richer, more detailed views of roads, buildings, parks, airports, malls, and more, to provide a better-than-ever navigation experience.

I wish Apple Map in Indonesia had this updates too

I have done countless times and nothing changes. Maybe because I’m in a small town and possible the only person to be reporting a problem. But honestly, nothing changes at all!

I have not updated to ios14 yet. But checked a few places yesterday (e.g. Finchley, Liverpool, Abergele), only Finchley show “look around”.

is the uk map update available for iOS 14 only? Should the map update be accessible via web data hence be independent of Map App not iOS revisions?

Don’t have a device running iOS13 or earlier (yet) but ‘Look Around’ hasn’t finally rolled out across the U.K. yet which is why you won’t see it in all areas.

Maps 2.0 appeared for me back in August and I was running iOS 13.7 so assume it’s more server based rather than OS updates?

One thing I have noticed: on my route home I pass through several roundabouts with traffic light control-Siri will say “at the lights-at the roundabout” which is a bit jarring.

Glad to know that the map data update (uk, Ireland) is server based (web data) hence should be independent of the rev of iOS nor Map App.

any idea of which area of uk, Ireland have been covered?

from my trial, it already covered Dublin , London, Manchester.

I believe Look Around is only available in select areas such as London, Edinburgh and Dublin (there may be others) but it would appear Maps 2.0 is fully rolled out for the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.

Do we know Apple's plans?

Are they going to cover a few highly accessed places and ignore the rest of the country? Or enhance coverage to the same sort of level as another company's Street View?

I live in a fairly out of the way town. Will be disappointing if Look Around doesn't come for us fairly soon. AFter all, the idea of checking LA, failing and going to SV isn't exactly appealing. Might as well go straight to SV all the time. Precisely what Apple won't want.

I finally got a response today from Apple regarding this one. Might actually look at it. Although implied that I should report every single mini roundabout in the UK via in ap report a problem (I did for a few and made clear it’s a wide problem...)

From what I've seen here on MacRumors as well as Apple's own website they are driving around in their vehicles so would imagine most places will eventually come under Look Around. People have been spotted too (in America) with backpacks so I'd imagine pedestrian areas will be covered eventually too.

Oh, at least one major city was not covered. In Apple s website, there is no plan for data collection in HK. Hence, no plan of look around for Hong Kong.
