Guess I'm the only one feels that the Android community will troll them on Twitter and make Apple look bad. I dunno about this.
Nope you aren't. I'm sure their block lists are swelling almost as fast as their followers. I don't agree with the "look bad" part though. Apple will do just fine.

To be fair there are immature idiots on both sides of the Android/iOS divide. I happen to notice more on the Android side myself ;)

Is this for real? Stateside,
Part of the problem is not only the rate at which they are increasingly selling more products to more people but not opening as many stores, but also people will bring in the device for things that are either user error or fixed by a restore or restart.
My friend has just moved to the states, she got seen the same day. Before iOS devices, Apple Stores here were this easy to get appointments, usually same day or next day. Now Genius Bars have gone from their stores, and most the staff are there to repair dropped iPhones. I simply cannot drop my rMBP off at an Apple Store any more also, you have to see a Genius.

It is real in the UK, I once set my alarm for 3am to book an appointment for the following week. Checked on slots a few hours later and they'd all gone. We don't have as many Apple stores as you do in the US.
I was checking 2-3 times every day. I got one at 4am, 2 slots available for that week.

Do Apple users troll Samsung, Google and other competitors?

ETA: Further - has the Android community been trolling Tim Cook's account or any of the other Apple twitter accounts?
I guess someone that spends a decent amount of time on Android forums would have to answer your first question. But based on what I see on MacRumors, the person you responded to was pretty justified in making that statement.

I like it, but, why now? Also, I think this will cause more frustrated customers- because there is no way they can respond to all DMs and all issues tagged with apple support. They better have a good way to manage this

Damn, when I have a problem with my mac I google it and usually you find everything in Youtube, of course you would have to deal with some crap in between but no need Apple Support.

When I have called Apple Support usually get "some farmer from Arkansas" that has no clue the Mac was able to do such things.

That's because the next day of appointments go live at midnight, not 3am, and everyone else knows that.

If you need immediate service you can queue at the store before it opens on that day. Lots of people do it on London with smashed iPhones. And they all get seen that day.

Put it on TweetDeck and there is way more than 10/min. Probably closer to 30 to 40 per minute. How are they going to keep on top of it?

Don't know. Our company does CS via twitter and we get maybe 40 tweets per day and it's a nightmare at that. I want to know what client they're using ha!

That's due to (according to a genius a spoke to off duty) the sheer number of idiots with non-problems, clogging things up. They fiddle with their phone, turn on airplane mode without knowing what it does, why they're doing it, or even that they've done it, then storm into Apple demanding they fix the 'broken' phone.

Pre iPhone, I could always get a same day, next day at the worst, appointment, now its 1-2 weeks.

Apple now needs to create AI to answer their tweets. Although I'm pretty sure such a platform already exists to parse content on twitter and automate a response. Could easily backfire though...

Wow, it took them this long to finally engage directly with their customers?

I wonder if this is a result of recently hired public relations director, or the recent FBI fiasco.

LOL... and yet Apple has been doing face to face interactions for years. Sorry... but these sort of comments are very shallow and dumb.

Keep in mind... at least for most of us who live near a store, we at least have that option... What do you do if you have a HG Phone? Or Samsung? Call them? Go to the Phone carrier store? Search the internet? Sure... there's always other options and now looks like twitter is another one for Apple to give out tips and tricks.

I said this on another site: For fans of The Big Bang Theory: And the fairy tale continues.

(except I put tail, instead of tale...how embarrassing. Where's my coffee cup??)
