My 6th gen nano replacement just arrived with UPS. Got 8GB. Nice. It was pre-used. Not new. Definitely not new. Even formatted for a PC and had some french sticker on the back and some scratches on the top. The warranty is saying that it last until Dec 26th 2012 so thats good. I had quite some iPods failing on me in particular the shuffle with the same form factor so I am not too pleased about that.

What warranty is saying that? If you meant online it will change soon.

If you meant the one in the box it should say 90 days.

Yes, that was the online warranty when I checked my serial number. I certainly don't hope that it will change.

Btw - I really start to like this version of the iPod nano a lot.

I think you didn't read the last section of the warranty info page. The last section will say there is no warranty. Go by what came in the box.

Okay, that's just kind of creepy...

I decided to log on to Apple's support page to see the status of my replacement. I go to the website, it asks for repair ID and serial number. So I go rifling through my emails to find it. As I find it, but before I have typed it in to the web page, I get a new email in my inbox. I ignore it because I'm doing this. Type in the info, hit "go", and see "January 4, 2012" listed for "Product Received", "Issue Identified", and "Product replacement pending". Hey, great.

I go to my Inbox, it's a FedEx shipping notification. Holy mind-reading Apple, Batman! "Arrived at FedEx location" literally as I was filling out the form...

Estimated Delivery of this coming Saturday. (I dropped the box off at a FedEx location on December 29th, so about 10 days from FedEx-location-dropoff to delivery of replacement, according to FedEx's current shipping estimate.)

Has anyone in the UK received their replacement yet? I sent mine back in November and still have heard nothing.. I can see from the tracking at Apple support site that they have received it and it's pending replacement.

Yes.

I sent mine back in November, it's status was "Pending product replacement" since 17th November... But Finally received my replacement on 29th December.

It was a new style silver 8GB Nano.

Received my brand new 8GB iPod nano today :)

:apple:

edit: submitted it on the 12th of Nov

Do we have to send the Nano's to Apple? I think I have a first gen (I entered the serial number and it advanced to addresses etc) but I am not wishing to send the Nano out there as well tbh it still works but the possibility of a brand new Nano is too much to pass up :D

Well if you want a replacement, yes, of course you have to send it off first...

Took last week my iPod Nano to a AASP (InfoQuest - Greece), and they told me that is replaced only with 6th Gen iPod Nano and that it should take up to 5 weeks, to get it back.

I've seen conflicting reports about what Nano model Apple send you in exchange. Some have said you get another 1st gen one, others say it's one of the newer models. Can anyone give me a definite answer?

Well I received a new generation one.. I guess it depends on what stocks they have left... in the early days people were getting Gen 1 as they had spare stock. I would think that they have now exhausted this and are giving out newer ones.

after 6 weeks waiting, last week i got a 6th gen ipod nano silver and it arrived on my birthday woop woop :)

I have a brand new black nano 1st gen open box but never used. Can I still get a replacement?

You can always try. I haven’t heard of anyone getting one for several years, I think the program ended.

Edit: the page no longer exists on Apple’s website so you wouldn’t even have a method of requesting it.
