I don't know why everyone is upset about the colors and the white bezels and a big chin now but back in the day 20 years ago it was perfectly fine and adored and everyone loved it.

I know I’m in the minority (or in a silent majority) but I find these new iMacs stunningly beautiful, white bezels and chin included. The iMac has a chin, get over it.
No wonder they’re gonna sell well.
True that, and there is also some astro-turfing going on in these forums (people being paid to literally post negative comments / sway the comment stream), although you see that the most with iPhone articles.I agree with you 100%. Apple will sell a ton of the new iMacs.
What some people here fail to understand is who makes up Apple's iMac target market.
I mean, that was such a different time than where we're at right now lol. I really like the new designs, but definitely see why folks would want a black bezel and less of a chin. Most modern monitors and displays (including Pro Display XDR and all Mac notebooks) have thin black bezels.I don't know why everyone is upset about the colors and the white bezels and a big chin now but back in the day 20 years ago it was perfectly fine and adored and everyone loved it.
Yes, I feel exactly the same as you. I absolutely love the white bezels and I imagine us being “in the minority” has to do with just us being drowned by a very vocal group of tech enthusiasts trying to make a lot of noise on the internet. Something that happens almost every time Apple flips the script in a dramatic way.I know I’m in the minority (or in a silent majority) but I find these new iMacs stunningly beautiful, white bezels and chin included. Yeah same here.I am actually surprised Apple are not already the top all in one provider out there with the iMac. Really didn't think the PC world was that 'into' them. Not that I was watching that space.
the iMac faced competition from often lower-priced AIO’s that had the same processors and included features like touchscreens, more ports, better webcams with physical privacy shutters, built-in wireless phone charger and facial recognition login. iMacs have better display quality and OS. The M1 at least gives the low end models a huge performance boost that will crush i3 and i5 competitors in terms of performance.I am actually surprised Apple are not already the top all in one provider out there with the iMac. I would love this for the Air.This video below kinda scares me... I hope Apple doesn't turn the best-selling Macbook Air into this:
Do you spend much time wandering into strangers homes or walk the halls and floors of office buildings checking out what type of computers they have? I don't understand how what you have seen is a litmus test for how popular PC AIO's are?genuinely surprised apple wasn’t already the leading aio vendor
i’ve never seen any other aio in real life outside of the ones for sale at best buy
Out of a drawer? Now that they can run iOS apps and people are putting them on kitchen counters can we PLEASE have a touch screen option? No one wants to pull a trackpad or mouse out of drawer to scroll down on a recipe.
There is? Imagine my disappointment, to discover I've been critical of many of Apples shortsighted decisions for free this entire time. How do I get in on that action?True that, and there is also some astro-turfing going on in these forums (people being paid to literally post negative comments / sway the comment stream), although you see that the most with iPhone articles.
If one is putting an iMac on the kitchen island as the poster mentioned, the peripherals will inevitably get put in drawers when cleaning the counter or using the kitchen for tasks other than office work. An iPad would make a lot more sense to me here than an iMac, but to each their own!Out of a drawer?
It will do well because it’s Apple. At this point people choose Apple products just because they’re made by Apple (Both Apple fans and regular people).I suspect you are in the majority overall, probably a more silent majority on this site. It's a big change, was always going to be a lot of WTF at the colours and so on. I think it will do very well, appealing directly to the market Apple knows will appreciate it and the one that is most important to them now. The general home users, students and so on.
PC world is not into AIOs at all. HP simply sells way more PCs than Apple, so even if AIOs represent a small fraction of their overall sales, the absolute number is still higher than the one for Apple. On the other hand the fraction of AIOs in Apple sales is artificially high because they refuse to sell regular desktop PCs which are desired by many people.I am actually surprised Apple are not already the top all in one provider out there with the iMac. Really didn't think the PC world was that 'into' them. Not that I was watching that space.
Nobody (but Apple fans who simply do not have much choice) buys AIOs for performance. AIO PCs are mostly bought for office/workplace work which in general requires Windows OS anyways.the iMac faced competition from often lower-priced AIO’s that had the same processors and included features like touchscreens, more ports, better webcams with physical privacy shutters, built-in wireless phone charger and facial recognition login. iMacs have better display quality and OS. Ha ha. Like the way MR puts "Apple" in front of every mention of a product... on a site that is about Apple. Yeah MR, we know that Apple makes the iPhone.I agree. We need to make the article needllessly longer.
