I wanted both! Or at least a Tiger T-shirt to wear with my Panther dog tags.

So do you think that we were the only two Mac fans worldwide that wore there Panther dogs tags to the Tiger event? My wife wore hers how about yours? I didn't get any comments, so not sure if anyone even noticed.

I politely offered my wife the dog tags, but she said I should wear them since they'd match my Apple T-shirt (from a store opening). I had a silly tiger visor in the car, but decided at the last minute not to wear it. After all, we wouldn't want to go overboard, would we? ;)

No, shouldn't go overboard. Your outfit sounded just on the mark. My wife probably would have said the same thing. Would certainly like to see a picture of you in your party outfit, including the tiger visor.

I tried to get my ibook serviced as well, but they told me since i came in after 6pm the genius bar (prententious) was closed :( He told me to come back another day. However, i knew my chances were slim to get my MAC fixed that night. Makes alot of sense to just focus on the big release.

I can certainly see your point. It seemed that the Genius Bar was closed at my local Apple Store also. I did see a person that came about a return and refund, but were told that they would have to get in line. They also were not happy. Of course I'm not sure how it was handled after the store opened at 6pm. I hope that on an individual basis they were helped. Did your friend end up getting the needed help?

Hello Claudia and welcome to MacRumors. Sounds as though you had a good response to the situation that you found. So did you purchase Tiger? A point of correction though, It should be "to get Mac fixed that night."
;)

I'm so confused, what's wrong with being possesive about my beloved Mac?

Anyhow, I did not purchase Tiger. I was really torn about this and still am. I am in midst of midterms and finals will be here in two weeks, so I've decicded to hold off. Also, I was thinking that maybe I would just wait for the next OS? I'm still not sure, I just don't like the idea of putting down so much cash for the OS and I will have my student discount until December '06. So I'm wondering if I should wait that long. What are your thoughts?

and thank you for welcoming me to the community :)

Being possessive is an excellent idea! I think wdlove was trying to suggest that you spell it Mac instead of MAC, since Mac users generally prefer it that way, and also because MAC is an acronym that means something else for network gurus.

You are very welcome. ;)

I'm sorry Claudia, I didn't mean to confuse you. I hope that the explanation of Doctor Q will explain. Most of us here are very possessive about our beloved Mac.

Good luck on your upcoming exams. All that can be expected is for you t d your best.

Tiger is well worth you purchasing it with your educational discount at $69. No word yet about the release of Mac OS X 10.5. It could be late 2006 or early 2007. Although I hope that it will be 2006.
