The New York stores seem to be getting a handful of 16GB/1TB models in stock. My advice is to download the Inventory Watch app. If you see one in stock, go online right away and book a pickup order. You have 7 days to pick it up.

This is the BTO model they seem to be stocking in the UK too for those looking.

I thought I was the only person who Fedex ‘delivers’ to while not actually delivering my packages to me! I can’t tell you how many times this has happened in the past few years. Does make me wary about ordering a computer and having it delivered. I might have one shipped to a nearby Apple Store for pickup. Really love the look of this midnight color…and the thinness. Good luck! I’m torn between 16GB RAM and more storage vs 32 RAM and less storage…
@FriendlyMackle - MaxTech did a good comparison between the 16 GB and 24 GB versions of the M2s and the extra 8 GBs of RAM with the 24 GB model didn't really do much performance wise. It didn't swap quite as much with really memory-intensive tasks, but it still swapped, so the performance between the two machines in these types of workloads was virtually the same. So, I'd buy the 16 GB machine and spend the extra money to upgrade the storage instead.

you typically won't notice slow down til it start swapping pass 4-5gb in my experience, mine really start showing issues when it start swapping pass 7gb, at that point my recent folder start showing blanks, some tabs won't load, and some minor inconvenience here and there.

Rarely do they appear as they are quite expensive and are not Macs that the average Joe will buy.
16GB/1TB models appear in stores. I haven’t seen 24GB models since they appeal to a niche audience.

Maybe they are from someone ordering delivery to the store and then they change their mind and don’t pick it up. So it is still new in a sealed box. That probably wouldn’t show up on the inventory stock app.
