But did anyone, anywhere, ever open the dang boxes? Or were there never any boxes to begin with? Hmmm....

I dropped by the Shadyside Apple store this afternoon out of curiosity, and nope - there were never any boxes (I first asked if anything new at all had come in today).

I am hoping that the new Ipods will be available in different colours other than white or black but I don't think that maybe very likely.

It seems like the majority of people think that it is going to be a change in specs and nothing really major such as an introduction of colour.

I sometimes feel like caving in and just buying a second hand 6gb Mini on ebay now. I will really would kick myself though if Apple did a release coloured Ipod and i just missed out on getting one because i could not wait another matter of days or weeks. I think i am going to wait though.

My niece just bought a 4gb Ipod Nano this week and she couldn't care less one bit about waiting even though i told her that something new maybe round the corner.

Well, iPods currently don't have any rumors other than being released in late 2006, so I'm pretty sure it'll be a while. I doubt they will come out sooner than expected, the rumors always seem to predict things earlier than they are, rather than later. The only thing I can think of that came out earlier than rumored was Intel Macs, and those rumors have little effect on the iPod releases... so yeah...I'd say get it soon. Besides, the current 5G is really great, I don't have one but will most likely buy one within the next two weeks to replace my dying 2G mini.

Nothing is certain; this is a realm of speculation. But it's still laughable that people are denying their mistake with predicting the dates; most of the time they're pretty reliable. But the MacBooks have to come out sometime in the near future; otherwise the iBook is going to get old...and nobody wants to buy a machine that hasn't been updated in ages.
