Picking up an Asus laptop seems so tempting.
Got to resist temptation ............................:(

Not joking : we have to wait without knowing how long to buy overpriced hardware just to run OSX.

Damned you S.J. for having the greatest OS known to man ( to me surely )

Oh i know that :D

I'm just as curious as you.

Apple has been to E3 before? What do they usually do there?

Rich.

Yes, Apple usually goes to E3, if I am not mistaken. I was at E3 in 2001 and they had a booth.

Keep in mind that their booth was way far away from the main room with all the insanity, and it basically was just a few salespeople and a few Macs. Not even any real games. I didn't really stay for long because there was all sorts of other stuff happening and the Apple booth was insanely boring. :)

Thanks for the reply, not exactly overjoyed at the content but all this speculation is unhealthy anyway. I've been so caught up in everything and i'm not even interested in a MacBook/MacBook Plus or whatever.

Apple really have got this marketing shizzle down to a tee!

Rich.

what are the possibilities of an ipod with gaming capability, and even more so the chances of us knowing NOTHING about it?

My guess its the 17 MBP with Windows on it. That would be a Saweet gaming machine.

In British English, companies and organizations are typically treated as plural collective nouns.

"Apple are" is correct British (and usually continental) English.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Differ...British_English#Singular_and_plural_for_nouns

Actually you can use both, it just depends on what you want to comprise in the term "Apple"...if you refer to the company, it's "is".

If you mean a collective group of minds or persons within a given organization (in other words, a contextual ellipsis), you may use "Apple are"...

Last Wednesday, AI reported that Steve is not 100% certain to be at the NYC store opening.

http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=1718

I wonder if his trip is/was contingent on the MacBook release.

Come on man,,. It's come to the point where you can't believe any of the rumors as being possible..at least on the MacBook.
But I do think the opening of thecube would make sense to release it,,they will get alot of press out of it..If they do....

But what about the boxes?

But did anyone, anywhere, ever open the dang boxes? Or were there never any boxes to begin with? Hmmm....

Well, I guess since I'm in New York, I'll just mosey on over to the store on the 19th and see what happens.

I'm sure Steve will be personally tossing free MacBooks off the back of a truck into the adoring (or impatient) crowd. And I'll be there to catch one. :D

Thank you for reading the wikipedia article to us.

How about:

- Apple has too much money in the bank, its profit margins are too high. (singular, the company)

- Apple are working hard on the new Conroe mini-tower.(plural, the employees of the company)

Although, in my experience, the latter (plural) form seems to be more common.

In US english that statement would best be "Apple employees are working hard on the new Conroe mini-tower."

What a bunch of idiots. They botch the prediction, but try to cover themselves by insisting that no, really, it was going to happen today...but apple postponed it. Nah, couldn't have been that it was never planned for today in the first place. At this point their credibility is about as bad as macosrumors.com, maybe even worse if that's possible.
