As you might remember: Same watch, as well delivery today, no map. Update to 1.01 and hard resets didn't help. No map data.

Oh yeah I should mention I also updated the OS.

Not sure what's up but hopefully it sorts itself out soon. Other than the map issue, I love the watch so far.
 
same here - nothing but grid and blue dot. i filed a bug report and am now waiting for a software update.
 
I had a webchat with a chap who said I needed to talk on the phone to a senior support bod - but all they seem to be suggesting is a reset and a repair.

Here goes...

EDIT: that's (as expected) made no difference at all...

This problem started for me after I updated to 1.0.1. I came onto the forums today to see if anyone has had this problem, now I feel better about it - apple will probably release a fix very soon!
 
I'm having the same problem. Got my Watch yesterday afternoon. I've tried restarting my phone and Watch, as well as re-pairing the Watch. No go.
 
I just got my Watch yesterday and I'm having this map problem too. Navigation still works fine though, so at least there's that.

but without the map you don't know if its rerouting you when your walking within map.
 
Not having the problem before or after the update. It takes a little while for it to load but the complete map does appear. I imagine wifi speeds can also affect this although the watch is not the fastest device for such functions.

Which model? We have a 38 and 42 mm that are both stainless steel, and only the 42 has the problem.
 
I got a 38mm aluminum yesterday and having the same problem. I've downloaded the update but nothing changed with the map.
 
From the number of posts on the apple support forum it seems this is a software bug - people have been into stores and contacted senior support people - no joy.
 
Day 3 of Apple Watch SS and Apple Maps still not working on the watch. It gets the location but no actual map - just a grid.
 
Nothing seems to fix this

Was on 1.0 now on 1.01. Rebooted phone. Reset Watch. I hope this is fixed soon.
 
Got my watch yesterday (38mm sport) and it has this issue, no maps will load. Tried restarting both the watch and phone & tried re-pairing it, no dice.
 
For the people having problems with maps, are you in the U.S. or elsewhere?

Just looking for a common denominator since it's not a universal problem.

In the U.S. here but what impact would that have with loading maps? It should be able to load no matter where in the world you are.
