This feature will be great for planning out custom roadtrips, drives home for the holidays, etc.

I’d like to see Apple incorporate EV charging networks into this feature as well so that users can be provided multiple options for available routes that provide charging stops nearest the places that they’ll stop along their roadtrip

I remember when Apple expanded their new Detailed City Experience feature to Greater Boston (where I live) a year ago and I really appreciate the subtle details such as turning lanes marked on the roads etc. I hope that Apple expands this feature to more cities throughout this year:

It would be nice if Apple were to add charging stations to Maps. I believe they do it for a very few cars that have special integration but most of those are BMW or Porsche. It would be nice to have that available to the rest of us without requiring a full hardware integration.

Until Apple Maps adds a North = Up orientation, it's totally useless. With new cars all outsourcing their navigation and stereo front ends to Apple/Google, I'm even considering switching to Android just to get a usable map in the car.

What do you mean? On Apple Maps, north normally is up for the top view maps. On the phone you can use two fingers to turn the map but I don’t think that would work on CarPlay.

I mean the standard way of reading a map, where the map is fixed, and doesn't constantly rotate depending on which direction you are facing. Having the map always have north up, instead of not knowing which direction you are traveling because it's doing some weird 3D rotation.

You can hit the "overview" button and briefly see this, when you've typed in an address, and it will give you the actual map view, but as soon as you start driving, the map moves and you lose your orientation.

Unlike with Google, Tomtom, Garmin, etc. I still use a Garmin GPS because of this. You can't "read" a map that doesn't have north = up, all you can do is know whether to go straight or turn.
