It's been poor for me, so far.

- Inaccurate POIs in Cambridge and London. Some simply in the wrong location, some not shown at all, and others shown that don't actually exist. Poor search results when in London on Friday. Google Maps was correct for all POIs I tried that were incorrect in Apple Maps.

- No public transport information.

I really like it. Google Maps did feel a lot more complete, not sure how to explain that further.

Apple Maps has been really good so far, but I haven't really used it. The handful of times I have used it, I've had nothing but good experiences.

Drove from OH through IL and all over in between this week. Worked perfectly. I really like that it wakes up the phone and then has it go back to sleep right after the announcement for a turn. It's also nice that it keeps a small bar showing with the next instructions at the top of the screen even when I'm viewing something else.

seems to be the case in most of the US. Hopefully the rest of the world will catch up.

no issues in NYC, but i haven't really tested the real time traffic yet

if google maps is 99% ideal than apple is around 80%. and the last 20% is not that big a deal. the main thing is that there is very nice transit directions/schedules in the maps app and real time traffic

left out if you don't drive it is pretty much useless. I ride the bus and now it won't help me at all. From what I hear better not use it for walking either.

Ireland is a green mass and it misses most POI in Dublin City Centre. Pretty Poor overall.

Majority says it works fine.....not surprising.

Gizmodo started this BS crusade against apple because of the ban.

Only 40% say its working fine. That number should be ideally at least 90%. This isn't just Gizmodo. I have iOS 6 whereas my friend has iOS 5 and we stopped using my Maps to find stuff.

Most of the answers are positive because most people on this forum are from the USA... The maps are absolutely horrible over here and almost everybody uses an iPhone.

Then you should buy one of those super cool smartphones with proprietary maps made by one of the super innovative companies in England or Mexico or Hong Kong.

Oh, wait...

(You're really surprised that a US company puts their best effort into US services first?)

So far the results are typical of these standard Apple outcries. A good 60-70% are fine-to-great. 20% have some tangible issues.

9-10% utterly hate it, of which the majority are likely the narcissistic, reactionary, myopic lemmings who brought all of their childhood bitterness, narcissism and daddy-issues with them when they first used the product. They should all apply for jobs at Gizmodo, which makes its bread and butter hiring people just like them to write. Jesus Diaz probably got together with Jean Gassee and plotted the whole thing.

Most of their customers and profits don't come from the US though. Should German car manufacturers only have German in their systems because they're based in Germany?

It got me lost once by sending me to a road that did not exist. Kind of embarrassing because i was trying to take my boss and my bosses boss out to eat and we could to locate the place via Maps.

You're joking, right?

And where exactly do you think most of a German car company's profit comes from based on sales?

They're going to START with the US data quality, and go from there. I really don't think that they intend to never improve data in Europe and Asia. They'll get there, but their priority was home first.

Ugh. Come on. I can't tell you how many times I either got lost with Google and other GPS maps, or heard of others who did. Countless times. It happened just the same as its happening with Apple, and it happened even after Google had years to nail their maps down. But no one freaked out like they are here, because it seemed understandable that Google and the others would make some mistakes and not be 100% accurate. We all giggled about it, and no one got flaming angry, because their expectations were realistic.

The only difference here is that people's expectations are heightened to an unrealistic level by Apple's success and image, and by their own feelings of entitlement. This is the same pathetic attitude that drove the silly Occupy movement. "We're the 99% and we want our ********** Maps!" When, in reality, they're nowhere near the 99%, they're just the most ridiculously obnoxious.

China
However my comment was just a sarcastic reply to the remark above. Apple is a global company that's known for releasing finished products unlike buggy open source alternatives. I understand that the maps work fine in the US, I just don't think they should have released them as is worldwide until they were fully finished. Releasing rushed unfinished products is not very Apple like.

Guess again...according to that article, 25% of VW's sold in China, but that represents only 13.7% of profits. Just like Apple with the US, they would rather sell more cars in Europe or more importantly, the US....and that's where there is market share to grab.

Its irritating to me because the street I live on is essentially a circle & at one point in time it was half of a circle. Well that was like 15 years ago. You'd think the map data would have updated it to show my street is in fact, a full circle instead of it getting cut off.

Not a huge problem. I just hit the 'Report a Problem' the other week to tell them about it. Hopefully it will get better because other than that, no other issues have come up.

See, now, here's someone with the right perspective. There's a problem, and it's irritating, but it's not a huge problem worth freaking out about.

Meanwhile, the mobs assemble with torches and pitchforks because they got lost on the way to 7-11, and their favorite Irish village is obscured by clouds in satellite view.

Has this been corrected yet?

Actually not that good, doesn't find that much, no tram stations in zurich. and it displays a rickshaw taxi company in my house...

Reported all problems on the release day of ios 6, not one fixed until now...

today i was using Google Navigation on an HTC One X and I have to say, wow, it is amazing. It is even better than most paid/premium navigation apps. I really have to say Google really have done a great job with maps for android. But sadly their iOS app was never up to the same mark, say what you will about iOS maps, i hope it brings all those missing feature to iOS, but they clearly have loads of room for improvement

What has that got to do with your experience with IOS 6 apple maps?
