A very happy birthday to Apple. Love my Apple devices and looking forward to seeing all the new devices Apple has planned for the future.

Apple was founded on April 1, 1976, by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, making the company officially 50 years old today.
That is incorrect and unintentionally disrespectful to one of Apple's founders. Please correct that by including Ronald Wayne in that sentence since he is one of Apple's three founders. That sentence can be corrected to say, "Apple was founded on April 1, 1976, by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne, making the company officially 50 years old today."

I don't blame any of the good and hard-working writers at MacRumors for the mistake in that sentence. The writers moderators of MacRumors do a wonderful job with this website and forum, and I appreciate their hard work. I blame Tim Cook for being so clueless and mediocre that he can't even say the names of all three of Apple's founders on the 50th anniversary day of Apple's founding.

Would love to see more Apple products in these colors. For instance, iPhone 18.

Is this a commentary on the Cook years? Say what you want about the "success" of some of the initiatives (Vision Pro, HomePod) but I don't understand people saying Apple is "the same". Under Cooke: AirPods, Watch, HomePod, Vision, Apple Silicon, Apple Music, AppleTV (Film/TV producer).
Well I'm not sure what you think Different means. Most of the innovative initaives we're built under a roadmap that Steve Jobs laid out. And a lot of Apple's growth in the Tim Cook period, isn't really built on innovation at all or thinking differently. It's buit on copying what other companies do to innovate, and finding ways to increase income through say nickel and dimming customers (think accessories and services). And the innovative initiatives, like a car or the Vision Pro have not been successful. Apple is still build on the iPhone. Furthermore, Apple's greatest strengths, software has declined.

Today I saw this IBM PC XT ad on eBay from way back in 1983, and I thought it is interesting that it uses similar wording as Apple's "Think differently" <--> "Because everyone is different". I've never seen this ad before and it made me think - imagine that it might have inspired someone at the TBWA\Chiat\Day agency (the same one behind the famous 1984 Mac ad). Probably not, but still: to see that IBM's original ad strategy also focused people being diverse in who they are and what they want/need in their computing. 😎

In any case it is quite interesting to see that IBM released this ad before Apple used a similar intent in their ads. ...When later Apple used the opposite in their PC vs Mac 1997 ads implying people who use PCs are all the same boring people.
