I hate exclusives that make you sign up for a monthly service just to see one show. Then again, as long as it doesn't hamper the eventual release to DVD or other one-time rental services I don't guess it matters if they lock it up for 45-60 days.

I would easily pay $50 to watch it home. This may be a huge deal in those times.

Tenet is coming out on Blu-ray on Dec. 15 FWIW.

Edit: I'm incorrect, apologies.
Last weekend, I rented a movie theatre for myself, my wife and a few friends, to watch Tenet. It was wildly confusing, and the sound mix was so terrible that it was wildly difficult to hear what anyone was saying.

I don't regret it, we had fun, and things felt normal for 2.5 hours, but Tenet is nowhere near as good as previous Christopher Nolan films. It's no Inception, that's for sure.

Do u know about the existence of blu-ray's? they even cost less than 50$, and can be bought online with delivery at your's home door.

It can’t be that much tenet has only made like 51mil in USA... bond films do about 200mil they are not huge marvel like blockbusters. I’d say 100mil for USA rights.

Okay, fine, here’s what Apple should do: pay Disney $1billion for exclusive streaming rights (6 months maybe?) for Black Widow. Feature-lock it so only paying subscriptions, not trial subs, can watch it. They’d get so many subscriptions, Disney’d get their theater-equivalent box office money, and fans would get the movie now instead of in six months or a year or whenever.

"...Considering the purported success of the war film on ‌Apple TV‌+, it does not seem out of the question that Apple could be actively seeking to exclusively screen the upcoming Bond film in an effort to drive subscription numbers..."
ha
more bucks for a bang - i say
look at mandalorian
atv+ needs more pew pew action adventure stuff better sci fi offerings
not the morning show
keep trying

This would obviously be a massive win for Apple TV+

Would they re-shoot every scene to involve James having an iPhone, tho? :p
Companies like Apple regularly pay studios for product appearances. In movies and TV shows, you will very often see the heros using iPhones, and never see the bad guys use iPhones. Apple pays a lot of money for this.

If you've seen For All of Mankind, did you notice the scene where all the astronauts raced their cars to the bar.... and every single one of them was driving a Corvette? Guess why that happened!

"These two companies are making insane bids, lets talk about it in public so the others are joining the party!"

The people behind SG-1/A/U are already working on an idea for a new series, so it's definitely a matter of time. I'd love it to go to Apple. ATV+'s track record is still new but I feel like it would be safer there than Netflix. Netflix would probably cancel it after 3 seasons because of their dumb business practices lol
The creator of Stargate SG-1 are still try to get some streaming channel to sign the contract so they can start making new episodes. I hoping Amazon Prime sign on myself! There does not seem to the interest that would expect for a new series. Some rag said that it appeal to “old of an audience“ but that who has the money now! There no longer any advertising involve, so I do not see the problem! If CBS Access can sign on to a ST Picard and renew ST Discovery, both terrible series and that is coming from a life long Trekkie too! Stargate has worldwide appeal too!

Why would Disney do that when they have their own streaming service and have the marvel universe?

Because Apple might be willing to give them a billion dollars for it. It’s money they’re very much not getting right now, given that the movie didn’t get its May release. And after the exclusive window is up, Disney would still have it for Disney+.

I don’t expect it to happen, but it’s better than a lot of the other “Apple should buy X” schemes I’ve heard.

About time. Apple should definitely go out of their way to try and snatch the rights to a blockbuster movie like 007 to prove Apple TV+ is worth subscribing to.

What I don’t understand is the competition from Netflix. Unlike Apple TV+ which still charges $1.99 per movie rental, Netflix does not charge extra. So how will Netflix make money if they do secure the rights to the new Bond movie?

Just buy MGM and not only have Bond, but start a new Stargate TV series. Do it! (they almost bought SG-1 a season 11 back in the day for iTunes but SyFy's contract didn't let it happen).

I dont normally agree with buying content, but given the insane amount of money have already spent on Apple TV+ they might as well go all in.

Well the last bond move grossed $880m dollars, so this ain't going to come cheap for whoever wins.

Thats with gate receipts, Lol & NOT what cinemas paid to show the movie 🙄🤦‍♂️...

Apple could pay the standard Cinema broadcast rights & then give a percentage per viewing..simple & not overly expensive for Apple.

I’m aware of that, but it gives an idea of scale

They could, but when in a bidding war with Netflix, do you see that that happening?

Apple know this could be a massive win for them, especially if they release it on Christmas Day, with lots of families relatively isolated from large gatherings this year. Paying normal money in abnormal times isn’t going to happen.

Like Game of Thrones - people signed up for HBO only for the show, then cancelled. Apple needs real substance to sustain memberships - and they can't just buy their way into that

One option would be they will release it it Cinema first then on Streaming few weeks later, that way everyone can have access to it... I very much doubt it would not be realised in Cinema tho.
