You should know by now that some people will bag on anything Apple isn't doing until Apple does it. It's annoying, but really...there's not much reasoning with people like that anyway.

Though I could see a lot of useful features for a 13" iPad. If Apple were to make it a 16:10 aspect ratio, it'd give you more screen space without being so cumbersome. It'd also be a better size for productivity apps like image, movie, and music editors. If Apple throws in a Wacom digitizer, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

Honestly, I don't see them making a bigger anything until Apple comes out with an entirely vector based iOS. The only reason I think we got the iPad Mini is because 1024x768/2048x1536 is still just as useable on a 7.9" screen as it is on the iPad's 9.7". They didn't have to adjust anything.

Going to a larger screen as is though would mean smaller icons and UI elements if they up the resolution to maintain "retina" on a 13" display, or larger icons if they just make a bigger 2048x screen. I couldn't imagine Apple doing this.

With vectors, they wouldn't have to support three icon sizes. They could just say "for screen size X, use icons this size, for Y, use that". It's much simpler. Doesn't require nearly as much work to implement.

Agreed and agreed.

I'd love to see a bigger iPad just as much as I'd like to see a larger iPhone. Ideally stealing some ideas back from Samsung (and others now) and put a Wacom digitizer/S-Pen/iPen on both.

Folks can sneer all they want, the Note line from Sammy are the UGLIEST devices I've ever used . . . . . . . . . . . . wait for it . . . . . . . . . . . and the MOST USEFUL I've ever picked up since my Palm V circa 2001.

And yes, Apple will have an issue with making useful changes in resolution/screen size/etc. if they have to constantly move any entire ecosystem in one direction or another.

Gaining a vector based OS, and allowing devs to code in vector will be a giant leap toward Apple not back treading on their promise to not fragment.

Wow. Just wow.

I understand how you could be surprised. Many of the forum members here would prove that there are exceptions to that fact.

I think he's trying to say that iOS 7 doesn't limit you to 9 apps in a folder anymore, you can scroll between pages within folders now.

but it does limit me to the same number of visible apps on a 9.7" screen as I get on my 3.5" screen.

It would be amazing if Apple could build a keyboard dock for their iPads. You could dock the iPad when needing to do some serious typing, and you could undock it when you need to take it on the go. Or bring the dock with you if you like. If only Apple would make one.

...wait.

Interesting idea.
