The iPhone is getting boring and I think it's catching up with Apple in terms of sales. If Apple gave us more customizability, maybe there wouldn't be such a clamor for a new physical design. After all, it's the physical design that keeps the iPhone interesting - not what's on the screen, which is basically the same as it's been for the last five years.

Dumbest post of the year.

I've been off contract for a year and a half, waiting for this so I can move from my Android! No way was I going to pay for a rehashed iP4 last year. This looks to be a solid upgrade at least. And I'm sure the design is nicer in person than it looks on a computer screen.

Did you switch from iPhone to Android or will this be your first iPhone?

Look everyone.

Get over it. This will be the iPhone forever. It will always be the same. iOS will always be the same.Apple is stuck and it isn't changing anytime soon.

Apple is no longer capable of innovation like the Galaxy S3. If they were then they would figure out a way to make a reasonable sized screen.

I'm just as upset about it as many others here but also excited to get out and buy something new, different and exciting. Android 4.1 looks cool, so does Windows Phone 8.

And they could still use the edges. They look about the same as now. A little thinner.

Yeah that's what I meant. Antenna will be on the top and bottom parts of the band just like now. The Glass separates those from the metal back. And the side bands are still just structural points.

Looking forward to getting an iPhone on Verizon's LTE network. Love the Verizon network, but their 3G network is painfully slow. Plus, I'm sure Verizon will appreciate likely getting more money from my family for more data when we upgrade from 3G to LTE iPhones.

I don't understand why you have a problem with the screen size, it is a phone.

Oh okay.

I have a hard time seeing Apple releasing TWO flagship products at one event. From a business perspective, Apple or not, it doesn't seem like a good idea. I don't believe it.

i guess ip 4s is not going anywhere it ll replace the current 4, and i ll get that since i m cheap:D

Surprised that it's that early. I was expecting October. I won't be getting this generation iPhone. But excited to see the official final product and any other updates or new devices they come out with.

they hav to upgrade their ipods and introduce phones(bec of severe market competition), ipad mini is a myth and 2012 Apocalypse is not happening this year!

I really hope they current rumors are true about the iMac update coming in late August, clearing the way for the iPhone and maybe iPad 7" in September.

Ok since you say so apple must be stuck. Please people get a grip. Cause they don't want to put a massive screen on it they are stuck? I'm not blown away by android 4.1 or windows 8. iOS 6 paired with mountain lion is like NOTHING android has to offer and windows holds like 2% market share if they come out with something great it won't matter cause they won't have developer backing to compete.

i agree with you, a mobile screen has to be of limited size, over sized and its a tablet, and apple eco-system is what people pay for, i d pay for experience rather than crap ecosystem that other wanna bee companies are putting forward.

still :apple: apple

Yeah, I know, 1/2 of you on here would cream your pants over a 2" iPhone if they told you it was better, but for the rest of the world we'll just move on.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you. But it has seemed in the past that similar comments have been made by others with like opinions on the eve of previous product launches, and the sales numbers always say the opposite. The world does not "move on," in fact Apple sells more than the previous iteration.

Will Tim say " stop me if you've seen this"

I believe the part about the iPod. However, how would they update the iPod without an iPhone redesign? So it's plausible theyd release both.

Not the mini though. Probably. :p

2013 ipad mini, price = 249$..probability = MAY BE, depending upon the market

9/12/12 - More of the Same

Don't knock it 'til you try the new iPhone and version of iOS for yourself.

I went to a Droid X for about a year after having proximity sensor issues when the iPhone 4 was initially released. I was also lured by the mirage of having more user choice and by the customization of Android.

I bought the Droid X the day it was available, and i took my AT&T iPhone 4 back to AT&T the same day because I was within the 30-day return period. What I found with the Droid X was a phone that, after being available for less than six months, was already relegated to the growing pile of "has been" Android handsets. I had to wait several months to get the OTA upgrade from Froyo to Gingerbread. Also, several of the apps I wanted to use on my big 4.3" screen (Netflix and Hulu were two prime examples) were released on the Android Market but weren't compatible with my less-than-one-year-old Droid X for at least a month or two.

From my experience, Android is evolving so rapidly that a phone you buy today is already showing its age a mere three to four months later. I personally buy a phone every two years or so; and I want my phone to be able to keep pace with technology for at least the first 18 months that I have it. I think iOS and Apple, in general, is pretty good about not making the customer feel like their phone is obsolete before they're eligible for a carrier-subsidized handset upgrade.

Yes. I think Ive would have been a better choice. Maybe he turned it down?
