Besides Steve's RDF will not have you wanting the new iPhone.![]()
I am sick of all this iPhone/iPad toy hype. I do need a new iMac though.![]()
Great call. I am buying a T-Mobile plan as soon as my contract with ATT is up at the end of October! Unlocked iPhone. Cheaper Bills. No Contract. Yes.They won't have to. They already support AT&T's network. After T-mobile finishes with the re-farming, any phone that works on AT&T will work on T-Mobile, including the iPhone.
Considering switching to Verizon from AT&T.
What happens when a VZ LTE phone is not in a LTE area? Does it fall back to 1mbps 3G without simultaneous talk and surf?
We were just given OSX Mountain Lion, Is that not enough to hold you over for even a week? I'm still enjoying the newness of it on my 2011 MacBook Pro. I guess you can't please everyone around here.![]()
They've done that each time around. If you have multiple phones on your account, the discount wont be as nice for the second and additional phones... but they still do it to keep you happy.
Upgrading from a 3G
/Seriously
My upgrade date isn't till November 21... What are the odds that Verizon will push up the date by 2 months if I call them once the phone is announced?
It'll surely bite Apple back in terms of lost iPhone revenue from here to Sept. I mean, really, this was reported on some mainstream news sites, so I'm guessing people are going to read this and take note. Any rational person would now only buy a 4S/4 now if there was a dire need for it, or if they didn't hear about this yet.
Here is what's going to happen:
1. An hour of stats and graphs that no one cares about.
2. Oh look the new iPhone.
3. Bloggers cheer as a knee jerk reaction but are like "looks the same but the back is hideous and provides no real purpose other than to change and justify an upgrade".
4. Video of Jony (because he is to ashamed to say it live) explaining the design.
5. Cook spews some more bull stats: 25% thinner, better camera, better mic, faster internals, aluminum back for no reason
6. Keynote ends with some Apple brainwashing and somehow every blog on the inet will praise the new iPhone.
Leaks feel fake?
Upgrading from a 3G

This one's easy:
(phone call)
You: Hello, I was really thinking about getting the new iPhone but I noticed my contract isn't up until November, any chance I can go ahead and use my upgrade a little early?
Verizon Rep: No were sorry, we don't do upgrades early, you'll have to wait.
You: Ok that's fine, we're (You, your wife, your kids, your parents, your dog, your cat, your gerbils) probably switching over to AT&T anyways towards the end of the year to bundle with our new UVerse accounts, but thanks anyways.
Verizon Rep: Woah, Woah, woah...how many phones will you be buying today sir?
Threaten them, lol (j/k)![]()
Sorry, I meant it in a "gut intuition" kinda feeling. I don't really have any hard evidence to back up my opinion, other then maybe that this doesn't feel like Tim Cook's "doubling down" on security.
You keep saying that. It shows how stuck you are too ! Stuck in the past.
My point is that its NOT just a phone. If that is what you need , go get a flip phone from CRiCKET
Smartphones today are personal computers more capable than laptops 8-10 years ago.
The screen is the ONLY interface , ...so....Yeah , size is REALLY important. And the bigger models make everything easier to use.
In the risk of sounding out of the loop, when did Tim Cook state that?
Apple to iMac customer : sir we cant cast imac and all that other crap in our next movie, why dont u keep checking our website to see if we change our mind and bump up some specs
also computers aint bringing us our fix, so would u like to order our new retina ipad?
Sir we are a consumer company, it offends us when customers like u get exited about computers n other junk![]()
In the risk of sounding out of the loop, when did Tim Cook state that?
Then go get a Galaxy Note or Nexus or something.
The iPhone is first...wait for it...a PHONE. And like the one user posted, it's designed at that form factor for a reason...single hand/thumb usability.
If you want something bigger, the iPad Mini is coming...
...Otherwise -----> Samsung/Google is that way.
BTW...people holding a Galaxy Note and even some of the Galaxy phones look silly...giant bricks against their heads.

During the earnings call.
So much for 'doubling down on secrecy.'
This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. OSX Mountain Lion has everything to do with the Mac, and absolutely nothing to do with a retina display iPad. Heck this thread was even about a possible launch date for the new iPhone, not even the iPad.![]()
The D10 conference interview http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57443320-37/tim-cook-were-going-to-double-down-on-secrecy/; they were poking fun of it a lot over at TheVerge since those hardware leaks came a day after he said they were doubling down on security.![]()

These leaks are not good to Tim's keeping his words!
