Hope they release a new :apple:TV and iOS 4.0 for iPad, it's about time.

iOS 4 for iPad might be previewed but not released since no betas have been seeded to developers yet. My guess is that it will be released in late October, assuming it is previewed during this event.

I am willing to bet that Apple leaked that September 7th date just to find the mole that is reporting to Bloomberg. Remember that Bloomberg had that report about Apple's head of iPhone engineering warning Steve Jobs about the antenna over a year ago. Apple denied the report, and was most likely very unhappy about it.

Clearly it's going to be Gorgoroth.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr.Burt Bacharach!

I take your like 13?

Yea you beat me to it. I don't listen to the Beatles all the time, but I do appreciate much of the musicality that they donated to the modern rock era. Many people do not understand that their contributions to music have lasted many decades.

As to them coming to iTunes, eventually you would think that they have to, but it may still be a little longer until we see this happen.

if there is no white iPhone 4 release date, I think I'll get a black one.

And if there is no iPhone 64 GB release date, I will buy two iPhones with 32 GB. Or a 32 GB iPhone and two 16 GB iPod nanos. Or a 16 GB iPhone and a 32 or 64 GB iPod touch...

Seriously, I'm really glad that I bought the 3GS when it became available, 'cause I will for sure keep it until the successor of the iPhone 4 is out.

If the iPod Touch will have a video camera on the back then I will buy it immediately!
Would love to have it all in one device. iPod nano just doesn't interest me that much.

iTunes 10

With the ground breaking feature of it doesn't run like **** on windows (you know, our biggest market).

iPod Touch 4

With the magical feature of wireless syncing, but only for this product. All our other iOS devices have wifi, but the magic in those devices is too old.

*sigh*

Frankly I'm so over The Beatles. I already have their entire catalog in MP3 format, so who cares.

I have that remastered box set of all their albums, ripped them all using (then) iTunes 9.0 with 256kbps VBR AAC encoding (the same encoding level used on iTunes Plus compression), and I have at least five albums on my 4G iPod nano. I got tired of the waiting for EMI to make them available on the iTunes Store.

EDIT: Here my near-final guess on what we'll see on September 1, 2010:

iPod shuffle--current model phased out, replaced by a new model with a small touchscreen for player navigation. Will include headphones with in-line controls like the current shuffle. Price will be US$69 for 4 GB and US$89 for 8 GB.

iPod nano--current model phased out, replaced by new model that looks almost like the current model but with slightly thicker case to accommodate longer-life battery (up to 36 hours for audio only). New model now adds still picture video capture support. Price will be US$149 for 16 GB moel and US$179 for 32 GB model.

iPod classic--if still around, gets bigger 16:10 aspect display screen, smaller click wheel to accommodate bigger screen, switches to iPod 4G/5G-style on-screen display and maintains 160 GB hard drive storage. Price will remain the same: US$249.

iPod touch--new model based on iPhone 4--essentially an iPhone 4 minus the cellphone functionality. Will have only one front-facing camera at 3 megapixel resolution. Price will be US$249 for 16 GB, US$299 for 32 GB and US$349 for 64 GB. If Apple releases 128 GB model at US$399, iPod classic is dropped.

iTunes--updates to Version 10.0 on both MacOS X and for Windows XP/Vista/7. Adds full 64-bit support in both Mac and Windows, and we may see some interface changes.

Apple TV--new, smaller streaming device connected back to desktop computer using 1000Base-T (Gigabit) Ethernet or 802.11n Wi-Fi connection. Will include HDMI 1.3a port for up to 1080p output. Will be used to stream videos rented through the iTunes Store. Will NOT be called iTV due to copyright infringement of the ITV brand and logo in the United Kingdom.

I bet its gonna be plain boring. Mainly the same nanos same classic, iTouch with FaceTime (surprise!) and retina (surprise surprise) display.

But then again, a touchscreen shuffle and iTV and iOS 4 ipad could be nice.

Just because we're young doesn't mean we are completely stupid, you know that right? Just like because you're probably old doesn't mean you're completely slow and out of touch with the youth ?

Uhh, I beg to differ. I'm 18 and I have met so many people around my age who have no idea about The Beatles or about any other of the world's greatest musicians that have since finished. Not to mention how bad their history of everything else is, geography, grammar and common sense.

I certainly don't feel like I'm living in the smartest generation.

Even teenagers should be aware of the second best selling band of the 2000's in some form. Sure, their parents & grandparents might have bought most of that music in the 2000s, but then they would want to play it after they bought it. Teenagers do still have ears don't they?

And I don't think it was Grandpas & Grandmas buying Beatles Rockband last year.

My kid is 13, and she keeps all their albums on her iPod, and often comments that the best music is from back in those days, and that today's music is overly formulaic.

I notice the current formula seems to be a kind of bubblegum, saccharine melody that slips into rap then back to bubblegum then back to rap. Any soft, sweet melody, rap, melody, rap, melody seems to be the makings of a hit. I'm waiting for someone to pair Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with You can't touch this... probably go platinum in 2 weeks.

Eh. I'm thinking a whole new lineup of iPods (that is pretty much definite).

And... iLife 11', maybe?

I'm pretty sure that no new iPad is coming. :p

  • iPod touch with cameras and new design
  • iPod nano with more storage and Wifi
  • Classic stays pretty much the same
  • New redesigned Apple TV (not iTV I hope) with 16gb, HDMI, iOS, App Store
  • iTunes update but no streaming

Thats it

How about they go back to the previous gen style with more memory and you don't need to use the god-forsaken in-line control headphones? I need a higher capacity version for working out and I'm not buying anything the requires those headphones.

Honestly I think the opposite.

The expectations are too high. I think a lot of people will be disappointed.

My expectation is a major overhaul of the IPod line up. This to regain some sales momentum.

Facetime has to be factored in but the question is how many devices will sport the feature. Due to the need to have the new and flashy to market iOS will move to 4.1 to more completely offer up FaceTime. The big question is this, will Apple offer FaceTime on non iOS devices? Nano is what I'm thinking about here.

IPad needs a rev to run iOS 4.x so i'm expecting that too. They could wait till late Sept. or Oct. Though.

I'm still gunning for a larger Touch small iPad device. Such would be very handy for FaceTime, Gaming and othe very portable uses.

Times are A-changing...

That is a nice little ****** on the picture!

I agree the early in-line control headphones were terrible, but ever since they replaced them with newer production models through the recall, it works a lot better. I still like the idea of a small touchscreen because I can see just what track is being played.

What do you suppose that brown pudding looking image is below the apple logo.......significant?

The Martin D-28's spot is black, but Apple's has some sort of pattern...

Martin%20D-28.jpg

The pattern is called tortoise shell and is not at all uncommon on guitars.

I am really surprised they didn't make a 64 GB iPhone4. Hopefully the iPhone4G will have a 64 GB option. I have decided that I will wait until next summer to get the next iphone - which surely will have an updted antenna design, a larger screen and potentially more memory.

Who thinks new product is negative?

I don't get some of the feedback that people give on this site. For example - we have all been waiting for the fall 2010 iPod line up and we find out the reveal date is sooner than originally thought...so why this:

Rating (182 Positives; 23 Negatives)
[ 395 comments ] [ Rate: Positive | Negative ]

Really...who are the 23 people that think this announcement is in any way negative for consumers, Apple or the industry.

OR I hope they finally scratch all those stupid iPods and start up their neural implant line. OH God, I don't wanna get too excited!
