Apple is giving people the choice with the iphone 6 & 6 plus. What's wrong with that? They already do it with their iMacs , laptops & iPads. Some people gonna like the plus. Others will prefer the 6. Big whoop. And as far as android users? Who cares. Samsung has to resort to negative advertising because they are scared of Apple. Apple doesn't copy. They may enter into an area later than others, but when they do...they do it better.

Besides, competition is good. What are y'all afraid of. ;-)

Apple didn't mess it up for me. Please retitle your thread to exclude "us" and make it pertain to yourself.

The iPhone 6 plus is the best mobile device ever made. From hardware to software, it blows any other iPhone away. This is just my personal opinion of course but I'm sure Apple would agree that they are not making any mistakes with the two iPhone 6 models. Sorry if you don't like them.

So for many years, iPhone users have had to deal with proselytisation attempts from Android fans, who felt that it was absolutely necessary to tell none-Android-users that their choice of phone was completely wrong. And if you told them that you are perfectly happy with your iPhone, you were often told that in reality, you are not and that you are really jealous of Android phones, and that you are only trying to justify your purchase.

Now Apple was stupid enough to release two different-sized phones, and suddenly that behaviour has entered into the Apple community. Suddenly, you have people in these forums who really really have to convince others that they made a big mistake in buying a 6 Plus, because it is definitely too big for everyone. Their happiness depends on other people not liking different things. According to them, someone who claims that they do anything with that phone one-handed is a dirty liar, and people who claim that they are happy with it are either just trying to justify their purchase or will notice soon how wrong they are. Because of course, it's a matter of right or wrong, black or white. There is no chance that different people have different requirements or different usage patterns. It can't be that different people are happy with different phones. Impossible!

Apple, really, you guys couldn't predict that? You should have realized by now that a large number of people have no empathy whatsoever and don't understand that something that doesn't work for them might actually work for someone else. Please discontinue the 6 Plus, recall the sold phones and accept that this experiment has failed. Your customers were not ready for it. Let's go back to all of us having essentially the same phone, so we can go back to conversion attempts by Android's Witnesses again. They were not half as annoying as that "Your 6 Plus sucks, admit it! The power of Jobs compels you!" nonsense.

Or, you could do what I do - ignore everyone else and get what you want and be happy with it, instead of worrying about justifying it.

People complained when they didnt have choice now they are complaining they have choice. Sheesh! I thought having at least some options is nice.

I liked your post however I think choice is good.

There is a more fundamental human thing going on here....yesterday the 6 buyers were being called out for 6+ envy, today the 6+ buyers are being called out on some of the con's of a big phone. The common factor? Early adopters justifying their own decisions.

How I look at it

A 6+ has pro's and con's
A 6 has pro's and con's

The pro's and con's are not universal truths...only personal truths. There is no right answer.

What I really wanted apple did not offer. I love the 4s design (glass, stainless). Give that a 4.7" display, keep the bezel as small as you can, use the extra size/thickness for battery. Truth, if apple built this most would hate it and it would be called old fashion.

A great sarcastic post by MentalFloss

MentalFloss, I actually took the time to read your entire post and understand all of what it was really saying, and I agree with it 100%.

Judging by most of the responses that you are receiving, it seems that many people have either not read your entire post carefully or have totally misunderstood your sarcasm.

People need to mind their own business and let people buy which ever device that suits them.

Do you look at anyone different when they buy a Honda Civic vs a Honda Accord or a 3 series vs a 5 series? People buy what they need and don't tell others how to spend their money or how they use the devices they buy.

No wonder people make fun of Apple fans on the Internet. I don't see Android threads about Note users talking down on Galaxy S owners

How did Apple mess up? Because people want to argue back and forth to make themselves feel better for buying the "better" phone isn't Apple's fault. Buy what suites your needs and makes you happy. Let others do the same. Whether it's a 6, 6 Plus, 5S or an Android. It doesn't matter. I don't understand why people feel the need to ridicule someone else's decision to make them feel better about their own.

Totally contradicted yourself in this post.. But I sorda understand what your saying

I love my iPhone 6 plus. I am happy Apple made a 5.5 inch display. My only negative with iPhone 5s was the screen size. This phone is amazing.

My wife also has one and she is a small woman, and she loves the 6+.

Apple did not fail. This is a win!

After reading this thread, all I can say is...

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSHH!!!!! :)

I don't care what no ****** Android fanboy says about my iPhone 6 Plus. I loooove it.

I personally like options, and would have gotten the 6 Plus had Verizon, or Costco, had a minimum of 64gb in slate grey in stock. My only complaint is the aesthetics of the phone but I think Apple is listening to its customer base and provided options, and I am enjoying the larger screen of the iPhone 6. My only criterion for the new iPhone was larger screen, so box checked.

I'm firmly ensconced in the walled garden -- love my iPad and numerous Macs and accessories, so Apple has my patronage for the foreseeable future. However, differing opinions are healthy and hopefully pushes Apple to become more innovative.

BTW: got an alert from USA today that Apple sold over 10 million phones over the weekend, a new record:)

In just a weekend, I have noticed most 6+ users are acting like Fandroids who hate on Apple. Quite shocking, really.

Yup, just the first weekend. There's still people waiting to get their phones within the next 2 months so get ready for more. *Sigh*

"because it is definitely too big for everyone"

I do not think it is to big. So you can scratch off that everyone and stop using blanket statements you cannot possibly backup? Thanks!

It's not. But do you enjoy it when people keep coming to your door, trying to convince you that their lifestyle is right and yours is wrong? No? Well, what is happening here is the digital equivalent of Jehova's Witnesses knocking on your door.

It was bad enough dealing with Android trolls. Now there are also iPhone 6 trolls who fill the threads with "You're an idiot if you bought a 6 Plus" BS.

People trying to convert you to their religion, because yours is the wrong one.

You don't have to click of these threads. The opinions of others on matters so trivial should not matter to you. They don't matter to me. If you are happy with your phone and I am happy with mine, everything is fine.

On a tangent, trivial things such as religion should not matter to you either. Close the door on these people.

People trying to convert you to their religion, because yours is the wrong one.

Isn't it a company's job to try and convert people to their brand? Why exist if you're content to keep a constant customer base...that's how companies fail. Look at Samsung with their attack ads. Samsung is trying to convert people to their "religion" why shouldn't Apple by releasing 2 different sized phones to directly compete with the Galaxy and Note?

I have never had a single person try to convince me. In the real world people don't care about these things. Log off the forums once in a while Op.
