I plan to stay on 14.8 for a good long while.
Yeah I agree I think the CSAM stuff was why Apple tried to be less aggressive with pushing iOS 15 at first.I was surprised too but I think it probably had to do with CSAM. But now iOS 15 offers more security/privacy features. Apple want people to have iOS 15 installed on their devices.
I like this idea since Apple seems to push the big iOS updates before they are fully ready.I hope they continue this policy of giving users a choice when a new iOS is released. It lets the brave souls that wish to install the lastest and greatest do so while the people who want to wait until some of the bugs are worked out wait until the .1 or .2 release.
AirPower is still coming too. /sIt looks like it's still coming but they didn't exactly said when. There is no time frame set or given by Apple.
I still have my M1 iPad Pro on 14, I very much dislike the UI of 15 on the iPad, even though the widgets would be nice.iOS 15 was a terrible upgrade that made zero improvements to anything I use an iPad for and made a right mess of the Ui. I sold that iphone & ipad, went back to my old iPad mini 5 and iPhone 8, both with 14.7, where I will sit until I see what iOS 16 looks like. idgaf about the passive aggressive strongarm tactics. If a security update (reasonably questioned anyway now since Apple demonstrated its willingness to turn our devices into federal snoops on us) comes at yet another cost to a functional UI, you can bet the adoption rate will be slow.
Monterey has been just as big of a disaster as iOS 15 and Windows 11 in this office. I don't know if we have a single application, network function, or piece of equipment that hasn't been rendered considerably more cumbersome or non-functional. Is this just the year when software co's get bored with coherent concise interfaces and boring functionality, and just apply dynamite to it all for lulz or what.
Yep ? how much more resources must be used to develop for two versions of software? It was nice, but i can only imagine its more streamlined to code for only one version of software. (I have no coding experience other than Shortcuts, and TI-82 ?)I figured this would happen at some point. I was surprised that Apple initially gave users a choice to stay on iOS 14.
That's the reason I've stuck with iOS 14. Not upgrading until Apple kills this "feature".Would love to know if Apple's CSAM is the main reason.
True, but at same time Apple has easily reached the non-tech masses and created an OS that just makes it easy to use… and familiar.More than happy with my Xs Max iOS 13 Jailbreak. Don't see a single feature I'm missing out on either 14 or 15. They're really testing their user's patience by not bringing any visual overhauls.
The non-tech masses in particular would also appreciate the UI not changing every year.True, but at same time Apple has easily reached the non-tech masses and created an OS that just makes it easy to use… and familiar.
They add little advanced features as time goes on.
