Never going to happen. Ever tried to get anything done in France for example and their strict 35 hour working week? Apple likes Asian countries as they get stuff done at a much cheaper price. The labour laws in Asia are shall we say, err, not as strictly enforced as they are elsewhere in the world... Which means they don't need to hire as many people. In the EU & USA they'd be a vastly larger workforce at vastly higher salaries legally required to do the same job.I would prefer to read “Apple moving Production to USA and EU” and don’t see this as good news.
thats nice, did you guy the USA made Mac Pro to show your support? And ultimately a loss for the USA. We need to bring manufacturing back stateside. The "but the devices will cost 100x more" excuse has long term consequences for US sovereignty and economic stability. Additionally that point is addressable via legislation. China are strong because of their manufacturing ability which is rapidly growing. Meanwhile the US's manufacturing ability is crumbling.
I want my Apple devices "Designed in California and Made in USA."
Finally production in other countries too. Apple was too focused on china. I now await my not in china made iPhone and MBPros
Apple is in the process of relocating Apple Watch and Mac production to the Southeast Asian country of Vietnam as part of a broader push to diversify its supply chain, Nikkei Asia reports.

The report says that Apple's supplier Luxshare has begun trial production of Apple Watch and MacBook models in Vietnam. Vietnam is already the home for production of several Apple productions, including certain iPad and AirPods models.
Alongside Apple Watch and MacBook production possibly moving to Vietnam, the report says that Apple is also mulling potentially moving HomePod production to the country. The report noted that Apple's trial production of MacBooks in Vietnam is progressing slowly due to pandemic-related disruptions.

Ok exclude anything that lacks A CPUiPhone made up 49.01% of Apple’s net sales in the quarter ending on June 25, 2022. So everything else combined equaled 50.99% of Apple’s net sales.
You can verify what I just wrote by going to Apple’s “condensed consolidated statement of operations“ and looking towards the bottom of page one.
I will note that the net sales number includes services. If you want to exclude services and only include hardware, then iPhone made up 64.185% of hardware net sales and everything else made up 35.815% of hardware net sales.
Because most come across the border because they are looking for jobs and a better life, if you can provide that they won't need to come over. How would South America as a manufacturing center help with the US border situation? You mean, El Salvadorans would choose to migrate to Brazil, or what?

That's fine, Taiwan isn't China and the jobs are going to VietnamFoxconn, Pegatron, and Quanta (the major manufacturers) are Taiwanese companies.
I don't knwo what you're talking about, but seems to me that you mistakenly assume that I'm talking about people in the assembly line? This is absolute rubbish. You can train just about anyone to do just about anything you want or need them to do. You can even build robots to take their jobs. This is a power and revenue thing.
Tim's #1 product is his shareholder price. Keep that high, keep the money flowing, and that's all that matters.
and the most important thing the geo-location of China , their own home market , most iphones sold there for examplePlus its not just the huge amount of people willing and capable of doing those jobs. Its the whole logistics. A German manufacturer of power tools explained why he moved the production to China despite having trained and skilled experts available to do the jobs here. Its that if you want to change the design and need two millions of special screws you would need to search whole Germany to find a company that would provide you with them. In China, in those production areas, you will get two million of those screws just 20 minutes down the highway and they would deliver them in one day. You need a new paint for the tools? There is a giant paint plant just across the street. You need someone to pack and ship your tools you just produced? There is someone who will do it the same day. It's unbelievable how packed and compact those production cities are, you can produce everything you want whenever you want however you want. That's unparalleled anywhere in the world, as sad as it is.
