Actually requires iPhones 11 and above 😝Requires iPhone 12 or newer :troll:
Not compatible on any MacBooks
Im expecting this in iOS 16.2 Beta 5 tbh, which will come today.
Would be cool if Apple could allow song producers to upload versions of their songs without the vocals in addition to slightly removing the vocals.
It will also be removing vocals from the songs (slightly) in real time which requires a lot of processing power. It isn't as simple as displaying text unfortunately.Too bad it's only available on the new Apple TV 4k. I can't imagine it's too difficult for the older models to display text.
I think the phone will work as the mic and users can airplay the video/lyrics to nearest TV for all to see. Will it allow for microphone input though? I think this is a great idea, but in order to have a karaoke night, you need a way for your vocals to come out of the same speakers as the music. I don't see any mention of this in the article.
It says compatible iPhones and iPads, meaning compatible with this feature. Not iOS 16. Apple hasn't said which iPhones this supports quote yet. I would assume it is iPhone 12 or newer.Apple Music Sing will be available on all compatible iPhone and iPad models as well as the new Apple TV 4K.
As sad as it would be to see them close up, a lot of them are dirty and sketchy lolLocal karaoke clubs will not be very happy to see this.
Ahh thats depressing. Wish they would have made that clear before I bought last years model. Is it something about the processor upgrade?I caught that too. I wonder why the previous 4K models can't support it?![]()
Where’s Apple Music Classical?
about time?About damn time...........This seems perfect and actually might get people into buying an apple tv
I hope this works with iTunes Match!

The press release says that it does not fully remove vocals. So it's likely just muting sound that's common to both channels - like Mac karaoke apps in the 1990s.This could be interesting if it permits the ability to turn vocals off altogether for those who enjoy instrumentals.

I hope Reduce Motion will work here… o_0Real-time lyrics: Users can sing along to their favorite songs with animated lyrics that dance to the rhythm of the vocals.
