Maybe this special event will be streamed in Lossless, in which case be sure to tune in using your AirPod Max… oh wait…
Not really. You need gyroscopes in the headphones, so only Apple ones with them.It isn't.
The only real difference is that for Apple/Beats headphones it is turned on by default; for others it is turned off by default.
That, is not how Apple Music spatial audio works. In the TV app, yes. Not for music. The music app doesn’t do any head trackingNot really. You need gyroscopes in the headphones, so only Apple ones with them.
No need to wonder. Apple stated that Atmos and spatial audio will be avalaible for the entire airpods and beats lineup, including the first generation ones. So, any headphone with the W1 or the H1 chip will do.
I think the iPod touch is history.Would love it if a new a new iPod touch was released that was a meaningful update.
Before Music lossless I would have said that product line was dead, but given that Apple is offering a form of losses that none of their devices can natively play, I now thing there is a small chance.
While lossless isn’t really a major factor for me, I love having a dedicated music device.
is not an artist/musical event...it will be like state of the union, more tech documentaryMaybe this special event will be streamed in Lossless, in which case be sure to tune in using your AirPod Max… oh wait…

Uhhh, not according to Apple. Spatial Audio is only supported by AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. Spatial audio requires more advanced chips. Dolby Atmos, however, is available on any pair of headphones. I think you got it mixed up.

Because its not technically available without the H1/W1 chip.Any reason why this should be limited to Apple headphones? For instance, tidal offers its take, 360 spatial audio, and it works with any headphones no matter which manufacturer. You get the ability to customise the sound if you have Sony headphones because the tech originated with Sony, but it works with any.
What I find interesting on this is the time of the event. Two hours after the start of wwdc keynote. In years passed, keynote has always been a long event and no real set end time. This year, it means they have everything timed out if another event is scheduled to begin two hours after it’s start. Quite interesting.
Probably because of Covid it was pre-recorded days or weeks ago. I highly doubt that it’s real time like in person WWDCsWhat I find interesting on this is the time of the event. I am fine with a pre-recorded event. That way, the needless extraneous tidbits and overt pausing for crowd cheering are not a part of the equation. What I find interesting on this is the time of the event. Exactly. And it removes the pressure of having a crowd line up for hours to get in — if there are only 45 minutes worth of announcements, no need to pad it out to 2 hours just to make everyone feel like they got their money’s worth.I am fine with a pre-recorded event.
