Apple Music Chief Eddy Cue Receives $60 Million Stock Award

Is it just me or is Cue a little creepy?
Just fire this guy and be done with it.
People don't wonder. There are those that KNOW why Apple products are so expensive(like us) and there are those with their heads in the sand with a dozen excuses why Apple products are worth every penny. When I see that Apple has BILLIONS in cash, and gives out $60-100M stock bonuses while at the same time have declining sales, I really have to wonder what one has to do wrong at Apple to NOT get a bonus? I work hard just trying to make ends meet for my family, let alone get a $60M payday!

You hate him because you ain't him.
He got these bonuses when sales were not declining. They belonged to him and Apple couldn't legally take them away even if they wanted to.
They only recently converted to regular shares (which was likely scheduled to happen after a set amount of time, and the schedule was fixed at the time he received the bonus).
The value of the stock depends on the price of Apple shares, so if declining sales cut the value of the stock, he gets a cut in his bonus. The stock price could be higher if the sales were higher, so if it makes you feel better he didn't get as big a payday as he might have.
Maybe he does a lot of work, maybe not, but no one's really worth 60 million. The chances and opportunities that we get in life – where we are born , who are parents are, who are friends are, what our personality is formed into, these are only a little bit better than chance or luck and therefore it is hard to meaningfully attribute so much "success" to Eddy Cue.
It is a measure of a pretty messed up system that so few can amass so much.
But I realize that this requires a paradigm shift in thinking because most of the people will just look at whatever the ticker price of Apple stock is and conclude that it's a fair payment without taking a few steps back and looking at the actual value of money, and value to society and what to what extent a single "Manager" should be rewarded.
And it's no sour grapes from my part (i'm an engineering consultant, so I get by and enjoy my job) as I wouldn't even want the 60 million (600k would be great bonus however

No, as I have pointed out, the services he's in charge of aren't worthy of keeping your job, let alone get $60 million for.
Yes, exactly. What we do see does not really resemble "tons of work".
I probably cannot comment on his actual performance in the business, but I think he should not be on-stage as often. You can see his presentation, vs Craig's which is a lot better.
He can probably afford to buy a belt and tuck his shirt in now.
Every time I look at the music app on my iPod Touch, and now opening the new music app in iOS 10 for the first time and the first thing I see is a giant Apple Music advert... sixty million...
Personally I would of paid him 100 million as his talent at ruining something whilst making money for the company is pretty strong wouldn't you say?

WAB is on of my all time favorite comedies!'Some reason Eddy Cue always reminds me of Bill Murray in "What About Bob?"
(the amount of money these guys rake in for phoned in launches with outdated hardware and bloated software is criminal, breaks my heart to see Apple so fragmented and uninspired)
