Eddy is smug and has ruined a lot of projects that he's touched. Not worth 60 mill. Cut him and bring someone else in.
60million is what was missing. You are forgetting the other 25% they had already gave him.

'Some reason Eddy Cue always reminds me of Bill Murray in "What About Bob?"

(the amount of money these guys rake in for phoned in launches with outdated hardware and bloated software is criminal, breaks my heart to see Apple so fragmented and uninspired)
I don't mind that they get this much money, breaks mine to see the apple bank wallet increase more and more every year yet they keep increasing their cheapskate tactics.

Proof that enough luck can overcome extreme lack of talent!
... and knowing the right parties to hang out at up in the Los Gatos and Saratoga hills.

... I really have to wonder what one has to do wrong at Apple to NOT get a bonus? I work hard just trying to make ends meet for my family, let alone get a $60M payday!
The problem is your are working hard and not working smart.

Seen many bad managers look at a creative professional such as Cue and comment they are "playing around" or "doing nothing."

Thing is guys like this have an incredible knowledge base and does lots of analyzing before making the right move.

When that one thing is done that makes millions, the crowd says "Anyone could have done that!" Reality is being the first to discover and do it takes a lot of discovery and developement.

That is why Cue and others of his cut make the big money. Give it a try to see if you can make that happen.

To make a simple thing like iTunes more difficult to use with each release--is $60 million enough? I am going to buy jriver because itunes stopped playing many of the songs I have in my collection--after an upgrade.

More that buy, the more Apple will reduce it`s efforts, just look where the Mac is now...

Monopolies never serve the customer.

Q-6
yeap it's been a while. But they don't have the monopoly of computers though. At least it means that new oses like Sierra will run pretty good on my MBA 2015

The impression I have is that he uses his position at Apple to be surrounded by known artists.

Benefiting shareholders is second to that.

Maybe I'm a jelly hater.

Tim Cook walks into Eddy's office. There is loud Cuban music playing.

Tim: Hey Eddy, your stock has matured.
Eddy: Yup, soooooooold it.
Tim: Do you know that you are nothing but a giant meme?
Eddy: Oh ya! My dancing GIF is all over MacRumors.
Tim: MacRumors? You read that trash?
Eddy: Ya man. I go on there and start rants about how much you suck.
Tim: You know Eddy...
(Eddy's watch vibrates)
Eddy: Sorry, Phil sent me his heart beat...you were saying.
Tim: Eddy you are a painful and....
(alert on Eddy's computer sounds)
Eddy: Ahhh ha ha ha ha (spinning in his chair) Phil liked my rant on MacRumors...he thinks you suck too.
(Phil bursts into the room)
Phil: Did you see my reply about the watchban......oh hi, Tim.
Tim: I expect this from Eddy...
Shouting from down the hall: Haaaaa Phil thinks Tim sucks too!
Eddy: Phil and I are really busy Tim....why don't you go champion some rights upstairs in the cafeteria. Better yet (laughing uncontrollably)...show them all your killer dance moves. At least Phil and I don't look like the robot from Lost in Space.
Phil: (mimicking the Tim's dance moves) Danger Jonny Ive! Danger!

And you know this how? The guy is doing tons of work that you will never, ever see. And 60 mil is really not that much at this level. Think about it, his role in the most valuable company in the world - it's beyond comprehension.

Eddie cue...pure cringe. I remember watching jobs movie with ashton kutcher as Steve. I think if Steve seen his reaction he would have said to him: get out...take your things...and leave.

If anyone was in that role, they'd be good in that position thanks to iOS developers

My question is more one of taxes. If he donates the shares to a (his) foundation I believe they are tax free, but if he puts them in a trust they are taxable. Why would he not donate a sizeable amount to a foundation and hire all his family members to run aspects of it? Like Gates/Buffet.

These comments are a true sample of what the world is coming to when you have easy access through Internet and people start telling themselves that they "know things" when they clearly have no background for it at all.

Simply because people have seen Eddy Cue in a few interviews and some Apple Keynotes on the web, they feel they have the background and knowledge to judge whether he is suited to be a Apple Senior Vice President or not.

I'm pretty sure Apple got enough money, and the board has enough power to replace Eddy Cue if they wanted to. The reason they have not done so should be enough for people to not bitch about him all the time.

I have to agree, he feels like a dumb-ass on stage, and he have done some lesser interviews. But seriously, that does not grant any of us any meaningful background to start judging whether he is doing a good job at Apple or not.

People should really start looking at themselves in the mirror and tell themselves: "I should stop behaving like I have knowledge of things I clearly have no clue about on the Internet".

Good for Eddy! He is SVP after all.

I'll add that I'm using Apple Maps as my primary navigation tool with iOS 10 and it's extensions. Much better than ever! Never had any issues with any other Apple cloud services either.

The 'success' of iTunes and Apple Music causes the artists to make even less money.

I thought it saved the industry. After young people just kept downloading music illegally Apple was the only company offering an atrective alternative to old fashion CDs and Napster.

I judge the man by his work. Almost everything he is in charge of is buggy, hard to use and could be so, so much better with someone else running the show.

I like Eddy he would make a far better front man than Phil Schiller.
Hopefully this will slowly occur - Eddy is a much more believable genuine man IMHO.

I'd really like to see a balance sheet on Eddy-- I can't think of much he's done that's really landed.

I love Apple products but iTunes is bloated garbage. Gets more difficult to use with each release. For that he got $60 million?
[doublepost=1474795518][/doublepost]It’s my firm belief that all corporate executives are modern day robber barrons. Unless you are the founder of the company, or truly coming up with one magical product after another like Steve Jobs did, no one deserves to be paid like that. I have an MBA (from Tim Cook’s alma mater actually) and understand quit well what these guys do. Corporate governance is a joke as all the cronies on the board pat each other on the back giving each other raises. Shareholders have no say on pay. I forgot the actual number, but I think in the 1960’s the average CEO earned 5x what the average worker did, but now its like 1200x.
