So, Apple. What happened to the classical music app you promised for this past spring after your acquisition of Primephonic in 10/2021?

so THIS is what the rumors of Apple and NFL were all about....and people thought they'd show the games, it is just the 1/2-Time show.

So I guess the days of having rock bands during the SB halftime shows are now completely gone and it will be rap, pop and God knows what else. It's sad that AC DC never got a halftime show. That would have been awesome.

Super Bowl viewership has been declining every year for a decade now. Doesn't seem quite as impressive as it once was.
NFL Dominates (albeit it's a "...not what it used to be" situ). Advertisers wanting mass audience access need to have a relationship with NFL productions. Hopefully in addition to being the sponsor, Apple can influence the whos/whats/hows of the half-time shows. I usually use them as a way to get things done during half-time because the "scale" of the shows seems to detract from the performance for me.

"For starters, 23 of the top 25 most-watched telecasts this year are NFL games. The Super Bowl, both championship games and both divisional playoff games make up the top five."

Just wait until the NFL realizes their library and playlists are now all screwed up.

Sculley himself has said since then that he was wrong, that he didn't understand Apple. I just wonder if Jobs ever made peace with Mr Pepsi before he died. And who knows, if Sculley didn't come along and almost ruin Apple then maybe Apple as a corporation would have evolved differently and wouldn't even exist today. Maybe we wouldn't have OSX, iPhone, or iPad.
A great What if... Write the script and pitch it for an appletv+ series ;)

A service I don’t use advertising at an event I don’t watch to promote the fact that other content I don’t watch will become available in a service I don’t use.

Why are sponsors and the events they're sponsoring always proud?
That is true...everyone is always "proud" to present something!

We are proud obligated to welcome our new partner....

Apple Music music reluctantly presents the NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show!!

Yeah, over 100 million viewers isn't impressive...
in the 90's Baywatch had over a billion people tuning in each week. 25 years later is 1/10 of the viewers once a year THAT impressive? Even in ratings of sports today a regular season game between 2 top Euro soccer teams can draw twice to several times a Super Bowl audience.

Now that it is free from the clutches of Pepsi...I believe this is the gateway to Taylor Swift (contracted with Diet Coke) doing the halftime show.

I truly hope this is a sign that Apple won the streaming rights to Sunday Ticket…

I felt they had it in the bag until Dan Loeb (Disney’s Activist Investor) backed off on pushing Disney to spin off ESPN. This had me thinking he learned under NDA that ESPN+ won the streaming rights via Disney and had deep revenue potential to keep within Disney).

Still very much a viable alternative but hoping Apple prevails in this. Planning to ditch DirecTV Satellite service with Sunday Ticket next year and moving to Sunday Ticket streaming service with DirectTV Stream, Sling, etc
