It's basically preschool rhymes with harsh language.

The crap the music industry, Apple included, tries to ram down our throat seems to be getting worse rather than better. Fortunately there's tons of great stuff being produced out there, but it won't make it to top 40 / Beats.

Best solution, even makes apple money, is listen to your own music stored on your phone, Apple music is automatically the first thing I double check to make sure its turned off on any apple device I acquire. Listening to stream controlled by someone else guarantees the propagation of music that even dumpster fires do not fix.

What's with this "Lack" guy's hairstyle anyway? Looks like he has a dead cat on his head. What an idiot!

That's some good advice.

I much prefer having my music stored locally so I don't have to eat battery and data plan just to listen to my own music.

I'm not really into this music but I was listening to Beats 1 today because I was bored and getting ready. Anyway I happened to catch the interview/documentary with this Free Black guy and it was surprisingly good.

He was nice and very laid back, not your usual rapper type personality, the songs were pretty interesting too. I didn't add any to my playlists but it was a good interview and song showcase. It actually reminded me of a BBC Four music documentary. I've not been Apple Musics biggest fan but what I listened to today was well made and I will check out future things like this.

lol maybe because the entire top 10 on apple music right now is hip hop/ r&b. Apple knows that
Even if that was the case, wouldn't it make sense to promote something that needs marketing rather than the same old, same old that is already popular? Personally, I skip over all the random marketing on the "Browse" page in Apple Music. I typically use All Music Guide to determine what is worthy of my time and look for it in New Releases or pull up the artist page with the search function. I also prefer the For You suggestions that actually take into account the stuff I like to hear. I doubt I will every spend any time with the "Up Next" artists unless they get an interesting review on All Music that makes me want to dig further. If Beats1 is any indicator, Apple's taste is not in line with my taste in music.....

However, I should point out that it has very little to do with my opinion of Apple Music, which has my library, the For You section, and the search function that makes it work for the music I like.

As for the "Black Music" comment. A large percentage of the music I like was made or influenced by black artists. That would include rock, jazz, blues, country (black people reportedly originated the banjo - to the person with the Deliverance post above), etc. I don't like most Rap music, though.

Have you ever listened to Radio Paradise? It's actually quite good.

I guess the person who made that comment has never heard of Charlie Pride, Miles Davis, Wynton Marsalis, Howlin' Wolf, and on and on.

Hell, there's also Lawrence Brownlee and Leontyne Price, if we want to extend into opera.
