I hope Apple Music will include classifications of music you can watch continuous videos of (eg. 1980s, rock, pop, artist). At the moment, music videos on Apple Music seem to be an afterthought. I thought it would make music videos front and centre on the Apple Music app on Apple TV as there is a screen, after all. Hopefully, Apple Music will concentrate more on music videos, so there would be no need to put up with constant ads on music video channels and no music at all on MTV.

Probably they have to secure the appropriate rights, per territory, before they can launch the service in that territory. Also, if the cost is too high for any given territory, they may skip that territory.

Speaking of cost: I see no mention of cost. Is this free?

EDIT: Ah --"Watch NOW for free". Read: You will eventually have to pay for this.
Touché. But hopefully it will come soon to other countries.

Next up :apple:‘ll be launching their own music label (after all no physical product) to counter music rights in various territories, it’s just never ending. Then again, for this grab the popcorn & see how The Beatle’s Estate tackles it!🤣

I really need this, as I love music videos, but hate using Youtube for them.

EDIT: I let YouTube suggest and play other videos for me.

but its not on-demand like yt

Youtube will continue playing suggested videos based on what it thinks you like. This is better because it’s like MTV. It’s curated, live, and there’s a feeling of being connected instead of just selecting videos on demand.

I really don’t understand why this is only available in the US? Beats Radio 1 is also available everywhere?
I don't understand this mentality of people from other countries outside the U.S. Apple is a U.S-based company. When a company releases something new it's only smart to have their home country test it out for it's success first rather than wasting resources on a new product that might be Luke warm in reception worldwide.

Apple Music TV. What crappy branding. There's an Apple Music App and an Apple TV app. You can watch Apple Music TV on your Apple TV, and you can watch Apple Music TV through Apple Music in the Apple Music app. Apple TV+, Apple TV 4K, Apple Music, Apple Music for Mac Apple Music Match ( or is that still iTunes Match?). Apple Music Music videos. Apple Video (that's a thing right?).

Apple Music already has had on demand music videos for ages.
Just search or go to browse tab and at very bottom there are music videos

Yes, but I like having someone else curate and play the videos, the way mtv used to do.

And this is free. I don’t subscribe to Apple Music, I still buy and download from iTunes.

Don't waste your breath. Nearly the entire forum of complainers are just sour that this feature isn't available outside the U.S so they post all sorts of nonsensical stuff when they can easily watch music videos on YouTube.

YouTube already does this. You can go to youtube.com/music or youtube.com/vevo and there are tons of curated playlist by genre, most popular, artist, etc. You can also search for "80's music videos" or something at there are many user-made playlists on YouTube.

Interesting that they're soft-launching this when they had multiple opportunities to mention it at an event.
What difference would've have made? Why would announcing it at WWDC matter or change things? It's funny how this forum craps on Apple over nonsense simply because it's Apple. Had this been Microsoft, Samsung or Sony not a single person would be crying about those companies not pre-announcing a new feature....that doesn't require a prior announcement. It's only a streaming music video feature. Lordy.

I just love how people outside the U.S here suddenly NEED this new feature on Apple Music when they never knew it was coming. Oh dear what were people doing for music video streaming before Apple Music TV? SMH.

Agreed and I’m sure I’ll continue to enjoy playlists there when I’m in a mood for a favorite genre or artist, or a compilation of RuPaul’s Drag Race original music videos, but I also sometimes want to be exposed to current things I didn’t know I would like —or even knew existed (which is apparent when I know so few artists at awards shows).

You are exactly right. Someone might want 1980s, or 1990s or 2000s or 2010s or current or country or rap or whatever. The odds of anyone wanting some of all of those are pretty small.

Apple Music TV 1980s
Apple Music TV 1990s
Apple Music TV 2000s
Apple Music TV 2010s
Apple Music TV now
Apple Music TV Country
Apple Music TV Rap
Apple Music TV Classical
Apple Music TV Holidays

Lots of different genres, and since it is digital, they don't need space on spectrum or cable.
