Heh...."It never happened and it will never happen again"....right out of the old Soviet Union playbook. What's with the title tho? Losing it all what? Last time I looked Apple had like 25 billion sitting around in cash, could the title reek of (gasp) HYPERBOLE? On THIS site? Perish the thought, right?!?

Apple went down before you know, way back then.

Well according to this article, Rubinstein states that iPhone OS is simply too slow to run several apps at a time.

Now this is coming directly from Rubenstein. If true, then our iPhone will never be able to do what the Palm Pre can do when it ships. Thats pretty pathetic.

"It's much slower; Rubinstein and his team say that's because the OS X code is not lean enough to run swiftly on a mobile device's relatively tiny processor and small memory footprint. And you can only do one thing at a time."

From what I've heard from the jailbreaking community, the iPhone actually multitasks just fine using that special 3rd party program. So the multitasking limitation is really an intentional lock on multitasking placed there by Apple to prevent reliability problems, not so much a hardware or software limitation.

Well according to Trusted Reviews. If true, thats killer.

"The browser? Another shock. Being based on webkit just like Mobile Safari it renders full pages beautifully and quickly yet also supports Flash without much slowdown (just how good must that new TI OMAP 3430 CPU be?) and the mercilessly copied pinch and double tap navigation gestures are arguably more responsive than on the iPhone. In addition, despite its smaller screen size, the manner in which the browser operates mostly without messy URL and status bars means it feels equally large as Apple's handset."

Nice find there slappy, I really enjoyed reading that review although a little shorter than I had hoped.

The two main things that stuck out for me is the flash support and the OTA syncing. Now does that mean syncing with your computer over wifi from "anywhere" or someone explain please?

I've been saying this since the first iphone came out that if you could sync through wifi to itunes and maybe just get the firmware updates from anywhere, that would make for a killer feature. You could just about be completely wireless without the need for a computer at all. Hell the iphone already has a version of itunes, why not make it sync'able' within itself? :D

I think you should create a new thread with this link in it Slappy for all to see.

Its not complicated to add a video camera, mms and copy and paste, the most basic of phone functions.

And here I was thinking that phone calls and contact management are the most basic of phone functions. I've really been using my phone for the wrong things. Does that mean that I should use my camera or my camcorder to contact my aunt in Florida? :D

I say that because, by the time it actually comes out, Apple will soon release the newest iPhone, which will at worst match the pre in its ability. Also, once the pre is announced, all the media will just forget it and be like, "What will Apple's new iPhone bring? Will it beat the Pre?", which will basically take all the thunder from Palm.

Egggggsactly. :D

That is interesting about Flash....

The reason I say this is that during a demostration the question of Flash came up and was met with a resounding "no, it does not support flash, should it"?

Seems to me that a lot of these reviews are posted just to get some clicks on a WEB page. I wonder how many have actually seen it?

Said and done, I hope that it does help Palm. Competition drives innovation and will push Apple (and others) to look in new directions. Without that, we might all still be using landlines. ;)

Push works just fine. I use it every day.

Oh come one you know what we all mean.

The PUSH services notifications that Apple was proud to tell everyone that this is the way it should work. We all stood up and clapped our hands in a resounding yay... Yep that one.
