I am pumped, of course.
Since I live on the east coast/nyc the keynote starts at 1.. when would it end?
And when during tomorrow would I be able to order it from apple.com??

Thanks!

The MB has less expandable ram, smaller slower HDD,

The MacBook can be self-upgraded in those parts and I do not think the new MacBook will have integrated graphics.
Your arguement is moot and is unnecessary. Why can't the 13" MacBook be as an 13" MacBook Pro?

im on the west coast, and it starts at 10am ;)
gonna wake up at 8:30am, go to work by 9am, do my usually work, then at 10am tune it....aahhhh what a glorious day it will be

oh man, I have a dentist appt tomorrow and will be in the chair at this time... arg, I will have to catch the wrap-up 3 hrs after everyone when I am back home.

Well my hopes are:

1. tablet / Dock
2. Some sort of dock for current macbooks.
3. lower price points as I have several friends needing a mac, but $1000 is out of their price range.

Exactly my hopes. I've really got high hopes for a dock. If it comes in the shape of an iMac thing, then I'm selling my current MBP. If I can buy it as an add on for the current model, I'm totally there.

ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG! Tomorrow!!!!!

If Steve Jobs can do anything, surely he can take care of such a minor thing as that. ;)

Ahh yes, I forgot for a second there. My bet is if he's wearing jeans and a black mock-neck, he will also be sporting a John Mayer reference or two.

Other than that - I have all I need at the moment...

ok, so new ipods in Sept.
New notebooks in October
something for Christmas.

Just leave one thing? What are they going to blow us out of the water with in January....

these media events always leave a disappointing "one more thing" that never came. so they gotta be holding something for macworld:

HDTV with apple TV and blu-ray - $2000 ?

"Needing a Mac" and out of their price range? Sounds like one of those arent true.

John Mayer FTW

I looked closely at the leaked case pix, and I looked closely at the docking station patent filing and I'm convinced we will see dockable Mac portables tomorrow, and that an integrated display/docking station will be announced.

-T

I'm writing this at my desk looking at a 23" display and using a regular keyboard. They're connected to a 17" MBP sitting off to the side taking up space, with 7 cables sticking out the sides. A docking station makes a lot of sense to me.

As for cooling, one of the concepts in the patent application is that cooling could be integrated into the docking station.

-T

Maybe. But the mysterious new port matches up with the patent drawings in a way that doesn't make sense for any other conceivable function.

-T

I completely agree. The patents look dead on. It already has a display port. Don't forget the right side optical drive. That has to add up to a Dock of some sorts.

My biggest hope is that it would work with my current MBP. Lets hope for hope that it might!

mac minis?

there has been absolutely no mention of the minis. do you think apple is going to drop them?

I am not arguing. I am saying that you are wrong. We already know that the lines are staying the same. There might be a new entry to the line but the MBP, MB, and MBA are not merging.

Also as I have been trying to point out to you, it is not the name that is important but the specs and the market that is being targeted that distinguish the lines.

The MB is for general consumers. You can call it a pro if you want but it would be pointless.

The MBP is targeted for professionals.

The MBA is targeted toward the active traveler or someone in need of ultralight computing.

I guarantee you that the MB will have integrated graphics. If you need or want more then you need to step up to the pro.

Personally I think the $899 MB maybe the equivalent of a fancy netbook and kindle reader.
