Midnight 10GPU 16gb/1TB Aug 2 - 9
Silver 10GPU 16gb/1TB July 20-22

FYI You can't order two computers at once so I had to remove one from my bag and do two transactions.

Just ordered, 24GB RAM, coming up as 1-8 August delivery.

Remember, BTO requires someone to actually build your machine. You weren't going to get it 15 July!

I reckon that might improve. Apple just covering their backs on processing and manufacturing.
No, they have the configs pre-built they just don't have as many as the base config. My guess is the blue is more limited because they wanted to make sure they had plenty of chassis to get to retail which only sells base configs.

$1099 + $150 gift card for edu is a good deal for what it is, but I can't bring myself to upgrade from my M1 Air yet and have two Apple Silicon laptops, and $400 trade in is too low for me. Congrats to all that did!

Even with a bunch of gift cards on standby, but in my view those have been reserved for a future iPhone upgrade.

Ordered base model in midnight. Never bought a base model before, but this one is just for travel and all I do on travel is write emails , watch moves on the plane, and maybe edit a few simple files.
So not worried about specs or overheating.

I use a M1 max 16" MBP for my main machine, but I just can't resist that midnight. If they ever make the 16" MBA in midnight I'm all over it.

Interesting. Would only let me buy 1. Said one was the limit.
Were you doing education store? You can only get one machine per year per person. I don't recall them otherwise restricting purchases.

8c/10c 16GB/512GB Space Grey, July 22. I figured the midnight would be more of a fingerprint magnet, and definitely would have slipping ship times, so I feel fine with my choice :)
Space grey would have been my choice too for the new MBA (had I not picked up a 14” MBP last year).

I would have ordered if I didn’t get caught up in max techs Vids about the M2 having worse thermals than the M1 and base ssd speeds. Instead I have a MacBook Pro 13in M1 with 16/512, factory sealed new, purchased from eBay for 1300$, being delivered to my residence on July 11. I just don’t see how the m2 air with no fan and thinner chassis is going to have any kind of thermal envelope. Either way I’m happy with my purchase. I’ll be awaiting to see max techs testing when they get their M2 airs

  • 1TB SSD storage
  • 67W USB-C Power Adapter
  • 24GB unified memory

$1,939.00 via education discount (even though I'm not a student! 😂)

Ordered for my wife at 8:01a, Starlight, 16GB, 512GB SSD, was already pushed to 7/20-22. Be curious how many people see delivery on the 15th. Likely base models only…
Exact. Same. Scenario. Here.
Had a 16/512/fast charge/Starlight saved to my Apple Store account. As soon as store loaded, which was a little after the top of the hour go time, a few taps and my est. delivery ‘slipped’ to July 20-22 delivery.
Clearly stock was A) lower than normal and B) any alteration from stock would see, at best, a 7/20 delivery. Also sounds like any BTO in Midnight, earliest delivery is 8/2. Someone will chime in if I’m wrong.

Anyway, my better 1/2 is pretty pumped to move on from her 2013 MBP. My 8 yo has no idea she’s going to be getting her first laptop in a couple of weeks. 😍

**UPDATE**
Just went back and confirmed: the most base model Midnights are showing July 18 est. So my theory above appears accurate: anything BTO would never have hit a 7/15 delivery. Thinking 8/2 is earliest for BTO.

Wish I needed one of these. Might have to drop my Intel MacBook Pro into a lake 🤔

I made my Macbook Pro 15 a dedicated Windows 10 machine. When you are asked if you want to install iCloud, click "No" as it made the fans run hard and it never stopped. Used the smallest partition possible for the Mac side.

Ordered mine at 8:05 eastern time. Midnight with 10 GPU, 16 RAM, 512 SSD, 67W Charger. Got a estimated delivery of Aug 2-9. Funny thing is they actually charged my Apple Wallet $150 instead of giving me it as a discount. Must reverse itself eventually.

Apple's new MacBook Air with the M2 chip is now available to order on Apple's online store. Deliveries to customers and in-store availability will begin Friday, July 15.

Announced in June at WWDC, the new updated and redesigned MacBook Air features the biggest design overhaul to the MacBook Air line since 2010, and is the first to feature the M2 chip.

The new model features a slightly larger 13.6-inch display, a notch on the top bezel housing an upgraded 1080p camera, a uniform, flat body similar to the MacBook Pro, and new Starlight and Midnight color options.

Connectivity-wise, two USB-C ports are available on the MacBook Air along with a MagSafe port for charging purposes and a 3.5mm headphone jack with support for high-impedance headphones.

The machine also includes a built-in four-speaker sound system that supports spatial audio and wide stereo. It also features a three-microphone array.

The next-generation M2 chip features an 8-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU, along with support for up to 24GB memory. Compared to the M1, the M2 offers advancements in performance and efficiency with an 18% faster CPU, a 35 percent faster GPU, and a 40 percent faster Neural Engine.

Pricing for the new MacBook Air starts at $1,199 in the United States. The previous-generation MacBook Air with the M1 chip remains available for $999.

Made the purchase at 5:02! I got an estimate for early August with the RAM upgrade to 16 GB. The education pricing deal is really nice, reducing the net price by $350. I chose Midnight because I like the subtle hint of blue and the overall "matte black" feel.
