Wasn’t able to purchase AppleCare through the education store. It said I had to include a qualifying product. I ordered the midnight 16/1TB.

Made the purchase at 5:02! I got an estimate for early August with the RAM upgrade to 16 GB. The education pricing deal is really nice, reducing the net price by $350. I chose Midnight because I like the subtle hint of blue and the overall "matte black" feel.

Yeah, especially given the fact that you don't even have to be a student LMAO!

Just ordered, 24GB RAM, coming up as 1-8 August delivery.

Remember, BTO requires someone to actually build your machine. You weren't going to get it 15 July!

I reckon that might improve. Apple just covering their backs on processing and manufacturing.
Historically if you order right at 5am PT on pre-sale day, you absolutely get BTO machines on launch day. This is an unfortunate shift this year, likely due to supply chain issues.

Upgrading the wife's early 2016 MacBook with a Midnight 16GB, 512GB storage. Should be a sizable upgrade for her... and should buy me a few trips to the golf course without many questions 😜
You need to pay your wife off with things in order to do stuff? That's kind of strange.

Ahah

I think that’s the best configuration to be honest.. the 10 core doesn’t make any sense on the air, just more heat and battery drain/degradation. It will probably also throttle and perform worse than the 8 cores in certain tasks.

At 8:05 I placed an order for Midnight/10/24/512/67 and it showed Aug 2-9.

At 8:20 I realized I ordered the wrong charger, I wanted the dual usb-c one. I frantically placed another order, getting an apple card in the process (which I wanted to do anyway). Unfortunately I could not actually use the new card to place the order.

Second order finally placed at 8:28am. Midnight/10/24/512/dual35. Same delivery of Aug 2-9.

Now, I'll go back to cancel the first order.

Midnight 10 core/16GB/512GB in the cart at one minute after, was already at 8/2-9.
It's fine, would rather wait to get what I want but shocked at how fast those times slipped.

Ordered mine at 8:05 eastern time. Midnight with 10 GPU, 16 RAM, 512 SSD, 67W Charger. Got a estimated delivery of Aug 2-9. Funny thing is they actually charged my Apple Wallet $150 instead of giving me it as a discount. Must reverse itself eventually.
It may be taxes.

They didn't slip. Those were the times from the start.

It actually didn't slip yet, I ordered at 5:02 pst and still got the same estimate.

You were able to get $350 off with the student discount? Mine was only $300. $150 off the price and a $150 gift card.

I was on the fence about buying the M2 MBA. I looked at the Midnight with upgraded 16GB Ram and 512 SSD but it was already an Aug delivery at 8:02 AM ET. Decided to hold off with that long of a wait. I will wait to see the reviews, how Midnight is with fingerprint smudging etc. Also, there is very little price difference compared to the MBP 14 that goes on sale all the time for $1,799 after you do the upgrades in Ram and SSD on the MBA

It’s the config I opted for.
The wife is pumped to move away from her very long in the tooth 2013 MBP. Though probably not as pumped as my 8 yo when she learns she’s getting her first laptop. 🤗

August for just changing the power adapter to the dual option
Not for midnight. I went with the 67w brick because it's compatible with the extension cord and I have a 60w Anker plug in my travel kit already, and it was showing an August 2-9 delivery window at 1 minute after launch.
Color choice was the culprit here, not charger.
