Apple in the spring of 2020 unveiled and released the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro, which is similar to a Smart Keyboard for iPad but with a built-in trackpad for better navigation with a cursor. The only color it originally came in was black, but Apple is now offering an optional white color.

The Magic Keyboard for the 11-inch ‌iPad Pro‌ costs $299, and the Magic Keyboard for the 12.9-inch ‌iPad Pro‌ costs $349. The Magic Keyboards can be purchased from Apple's online store, with layouts for over 30 languages.

I'd be all over the new iPad Pro but it still runs iPadOS. None of my daily driver Pro apps will work on it. Ugh. What's the point in having a "pro" device that can't run any pro apps???

something tells me that apple is going to drop the 16" macbook pro in favor of the the ipad pro....
If they make it switch to the MacOS interface when docked or connected to a pointing device that’ll do me!

I was gonna say “that and add more RAM”, but judging by that new iMac that seems unlikely...

I am thinking by including the M1 chip, same as the MacBook Air/Pro and iMac, we are one big step closer to that.

Personally, I am waiting for Logic Pro on iPad. I was also really hoping for details on if the new thunderbolt feature would allow for better external monitor support. But that could be more of an iPadOS thing we hear about at WWDC, closer to the Fall.

White is a nice step. But damn would I love some colourful options for these. Want to keep the iPad as silver / grey, fine. But at least lets have some fun with the accessories on the Pro.

Man, was really hoping for a new Mini!

Same. But I feel like this is better not seeing an update to the existing design - hopefully its actually getting an Air style design this year.

... so does this mean the current (2020) Magic Keyboard will fit the just-launched (2021) 12.9" iPad?

I have to image that Xcode, Final Cut and Logic Pro are coming at WWDC this year - why else would you give the hardware this spec?
