Sure, but i don't think the price will be any different.
Wouldn't Kaby Lake at current prices still be over priced?
Yes, but hopefully they'll be better enough to justify a price increase.

No, they'll likely never be reasonably priced.

Just purchased a new Non-Touch bar version and like it a lot . I think the Touch Bar has a lot of potential, but I couldn't justify the price point for something I likely wouldn't use.
I decided to turn on the Touch Bar in Xcode today and can't say it's something I would use very often. A lot of the shortcuts and things for more complex apps like Photoshop are faster using keyboard shortcuts. It's just a glorified toolbar that's too narrow and out of the way to be super useful in most situations. The only neat thing I see is Touch ID but my Apple Watch can unlock the newer Macs and I don't give a crap about Apple Pay on my Mac.

There're probably a lot of returns because of the relatively poor battery life (compared to the previous model).
That's why I returned my nearly-maxed tb 13" 16gb 1tb 3.2.

I also notice that these are coming out on the heals of a lot of discounts from retailers for new tb 13's. I agree with the call that these discounted / refurb prices should have been where they started at in the first place.

I maintain my belief in the theory that the 2016 mbp was a rushed release, and the 2017 will be considered a major improvement given it is in such close proximity to the 2016.

You can find discounts that are not refurbs that reflect the same price. I've seen touchbar mac pros advertised at Fry's and Best Buy once in a while. Cheapest I seen the touch bar version was $1499 at Fry's on a one day sale. It happened 2-3 times since it came out. Just got to keep your eye out if you want the same deal on non-refurbs.

It's has a lot of potential... What are you trying to convince yourself? It's useless since release and will stay ever.

Shows how much of a error in price Apple has made with those laptops
Not only in the price. There are so many errors in this MBP.

I'm guessing they got a good amount of returns on those touch bar gimmick MacBooks
Add two from me

If I was trying to convince myself, I would have already purchased the Touch Bar version. Thus, I clearly stated why I didn't purchase it due to its price point for features that don't apply to me. Hopefully this clears your confusion.

Some of you act like Apple is going to all of a sudden slash prices of the 2017 MBP when it's updated in the fall. We have no indication whatsoever that Apple is going to cut prices of the MBP in the fall. If someone can point me to the fact sheet that just because the laptop is expensive now that Apples going to reduce the starting price in the fall...I'd like to read it.

I kind of want to buy one ands then return it, just to help Apple understand that this is not a suitable MBP.

Touch bar is fine, but having ONLY USB-C type inputs is simply insane for a "pro" machine. I use the SD card slot on my MBP and iMac almost every day, and the Magsafe has saved my MBP from certain death more times than I can count.

Note the absence of the 2015 version as refurb- which still sells as new, but not returned. Superior in all aspects- keyboard, and battery life. Still get 4-8 hours more on the 2015 than the 2016 I tried for a month.

Fair and reasonable MacBook pricing died with Steve Jobs.

History's in the past, man.

Apple should introduce a model Touchbar + Function Keys. Increase the height, so you could actually see a thumbnail of a web page.

Interesting...though I'm more interested in when Apple upgrades the MacBook Pros to the next chipset. They have some things to iron out with this product line, not the least of which is price.
They did have issues with battery design, remember? Next gen should be killer.

Agreed, and 512GB should be the base storage too.
Not necessarily. Those who either don't have 200+ GB of local files would prefer to save money. If cloud storage wasn't used, Apple would stop selling it...

I used to be a big fan of buying refurbished products from Apple. But after having had the past 2 items I bought in a row both fail within a week or so of purchase, I have to say I'm not bothering to try again. Did Apple do right by me as a result? Yes, they honored their warranty and took care of the issue. However, the headache of dealing with a brand new product failing really left a sour taste in my mouth, so I'm going to be passing from now on for purchasing refurbished items.
