Three hours after it began taking pre-orders via the Apple Store app, Apple has now begun taking pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus through its official U.S. online store. Currently, all iPhone 6 models are showing a delivery date of September 19, while all iPhone 6 Plus models are estimated to ship in 7-10 business days.

Apple's online store comes back online as many users experienced technical problems while attempting to pre-order both models on the Apple Store app. Several U.S. carriers including AT&T and Verizon have also been experiencing problems with pre-orders, with both of their respective sites crashing for many users. Those interested in buying an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus directly from Apple's website should do so soon, as supplies will likely run out over the next few hours.

The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will be available in stores beginning next Friday, September 19. The smaller 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is offered in 16, 64, and 128 GB capacities for $199, 299, and $399, respectively, with a two-year contract. Contract-free pricing for the device also begins at $649. Meanwhile, the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus is available in 16, 64, and 128 GB storage capacities for $299, $399 and $499, respectively, with a two-year contract. Contract free pricing for the larger device begins at $749.

Update 3:20 AM: Some iPhone 6 Plus models are now showing an estimated ship date of 3-4 weeks. All iPhone 6 models remain available.

Finally!

I already ordered 3 hours and 1 minute ago through att.com before 12 AM PDT! But Shipping for the iPhone 6 Plus was always 14-21 business day shipping, now finally moved to 21-28 day shipping.

I should have waited 3 HOURS and order through the Apple Store because it's still 7-10 business days for shipping! I did reserve one using the Apple Store App on my iPhone a couple hours ago and I can confirm the order within 24 hours of getting an email. I just would have to cancel my AT&T order. I don't think I can do that, but I can refuse the delivery when it finally comes after I get the iPhone 6 Plus from Apple. Though that would be messy to clean up my AT&T account.

This thread is inaccurate. apple.com has been taking orders for 3+ hours.

I got mine in at 310 am et

It took a while, but i was able to order an iPhone 6 Plus 128gb in Space Gray thru the Apple Store app on my iPhone 5. Delivery Oct 1-6.

All the 128GB 6 plus models showed delivery of 7 to 10 days (Oct 1 thru 6). All the 128GB 6 models were showing delivery date of 9/19.

Store pickup was Unavailable for 9/19 from ANY of the stores in the San Francisco Bay Area for the 6 Plus 128gb models. :/

Hope the iWatch keeps better time :)

Maybe Apple forget to set their time zone settings?

The 6 was available for delivery sept 19

Overslept my alarm and woke up at 4:45 CST, scrambled to my computer at just the right time apparently. Was able to order 2 iPhone 6's from the first batch!

Can't wait to see how the "poor" 8MP camera fares against the rest of the market who all appear to be in a megapixel race with each other.

I ordered through the app at 1:10pdt through AT&T Next, but was finally able to get through to the site around 2:30pdt and order a T-Mobile version. Both supposedly deliver on 9/19. iPhone 6 64GB. Hopefully that means supplies of the regular iPhone 6 are plentiful next week!

Considering that the 5s camera is still considered the best of what's out there (from Android phones), the 6 will be better still.

The S5 and LG G3 and others have great cameras but the reviews generally state that the 5s produces the most consistently good photos.
