Apple Now Taking Pre-Orders for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Through U.S. Online Store [Updated]

There's something wrong with you. Why do you even care about Samsung?

did you even read the post i was responding to? I don't care about Samsung, i was just jokingly responding to someone else's question about Samsungs soon to be released commercial about how their releases don't have server issues, because no one really wants their products.

What?!!!!!! For a iPhone 6 grandè "Plus"?
I'm
A hour from Sac and I would've jumped all over that. I had my 5S,iPad Air and my computer all trying since 12:01 and didn't see one available for store pickup, not even in sac :(

It showed for all of the stores in California really, I could of have done it in Roseville too. One of my friends said they didn't see the option either, so I texted them a picture of what I was seeing.

You my friend are a lucky man. I hope I have some of your good fortune over the next week. Lol

Snap... still worried about the scratch-a-bility of the space grey...? Or was that really just a problem with the 5 Black & slate?

I think they all scratch pretty easily, but ill be using a case anyway so im not worrying about that. I much rather wanted a sapphire screen for the new iphone but we were all disappointed about that...

looks like no one cares about the 6 over here.

the 6 plus however is already at 4 weeks delivery

Probably made more 6 than 6+.

No, it was a worldwide 'cock-up'.

Store went online in the UK at around 8.40am (should have been 8am) and I ordered his and hers, to be delivered on release day.

I do not think I could, or would have been up at 3am though...., although I do admire the endurance of our cousins over the pond.

I'll be stealing the phrase "cock-up", thanks!

Mine has looked like this all day.

Anyone been able to snag a contract-free iPhone on Verizon, yet? Either through their site or on Apple? I'm on unlimited so I have to go through full retail price, but I'm not seeing an option on either stores.

I was able to easily upgrade through Verizon's site this morning a few minutes before 3am EST. It would have been nice to sleep in and secure launch day delivery. However, I'm sure I wouldn't have been as lucky if I chose to risk ordering before getting ready for work.

Either way, it beats waiting in line at a store.

If you place the order through Apple after AT&T, the AT&T order will get canceled. I had a preorder through AT&T and I placed it through Apple after I was able to since the shipping time for the 6 is the same. I did submit a cancel request for the AT&T order but it was canceled soon automatically after I placed the Apple one and I got an email saying:

"Thank you for your recent purchase on the AT&T Premier Online Store. We are pleased that you chose AT&T as your wireless service provider.

Unfortunately, we cannot process your order as you are not eligible for an upgrade at this time."

Once you place the order through Apple it is reflected right away (my AT&T account online shows the lines aren't upgrade eligible either, but they do show as upgrade eligible when ordering through AT&T until the item is shipped/processed in their system fully).

Bad news... I got my reservation completion email from the Apple Store after AT&T already processed my order on their end, so I cannot cancel my order until my phone is shipped anyways. Oh well. At least my wait is not as bad as the end of the year. (As production issues originally pegged it to be) I still got a good 5C to last me in the meantime.

Wish I didn't write off store pick-up. I was always planning on lining up so I didn't have to wait (patiently) for the courier to arrive and could walk into work all :apple::cool: Either way, I'll still get my phone and an undeniable few hours of considering how lucky I am to have the privilege of giving up hours of my life to stand in line with the purpose of paying for something so needlessly expensive.

Does anyone know the likelihood of deliveries being a day or two early? I have never ordered one on day-one and I think I remember reading that some of them arrived early on previous launches.

Itchy to try-out my shiny 6+ 64GB :D

Not very.

I basically did the same thing and had proper confirm e-mails for everything as well. I had a line (2 lines) with an upgrade, the Apple Store was not working and this was before the App started working so I ordered right at 3:02AM EST from AT&T for a 6 Space Grey 128GB. The other line I decided to wait and I got the store iPad app to work at 3:40AM EST or so and placed an order for the second line.

When the online Apple Store (not app) came to life again at like 5AM EST, I noticed that I could still upgrade that line that I had placed a preorder at AT&T with. I checked Apple.com's "Upgrade Eligibility" tool and it confirmed this. The system on AT&T's side showed "processing" for my order, and I had a cancel option as well. My ATT account on AT&T's website even showed the line still upgrade eligible but showed the other line I had used the Apple Store iPad app to order as used/not eligible.

So I submitted a cancel request that they said I would get an e-mail for with AT&T, placed an order via Apple.com when it came up about 5AM, and I got an e-mail very soon after stating the order was auto-canceled at AT&T because it was already taken. I did submit a cancel request right before on ATT to be safe, but I could see that it was the Apple Store order of the same line that "kicked" the AT&T one out. The auto cancel e-mail stated that the line was no longer upgrade eligible (I wonder why ). Now that line shows as proper no upgrade as it should after placing it again with Apple too :p

So tl;dr - if you can still use an upgrade on Apple's Store and have a preorder with AT&T that hasn't processed to the point of showing that line as already used you can place an order with Apple if the shipping times are same/better and it will cancel the order on AT&T's side.

I think AT&T takes about a day or so at least to update their system (maybe intentionally for people like me who place an order with :apple: directly and have a pending preorder on the AT&T site as well). Makes sense as they have less stock than Apple directly and probably would defer that to Apple if they can. It's the same price/customer anyway and they don't have to deal with much. Decent business practice I suppose ;)

Be careful! Unfortunately, my upgrade already got updated earlier this morning, though it may be because I ordered through the Premier store over the regular store, and at least online there is no way to cancel except refusing the shipment or returning it. I lost my reservation opportunity because of that.

I know this isn't going to be a popular opinion on here, but I think Apple owes those of us who were up and refreshing the page for hours at 3am an apology. I'm not asking for anything for free, I'm just asking that they recognize that the site should have been up and apologize.

I set the alarm and was up at 2:30am eastern US time, and started refreshing the page shortly before 3am. I was still refreshing the page til about 5:10am, when I finally gave up and went to bed, because I had to work today. It still was giving the "We'll be back soon" message.

I couldn't go to the carrier sites or the app, because I'm a T-Mobile customer. Of course by the time I got up, the site was showing mid-October ship times. I'm just asking for a public apology to those of us diehards who tried to order at the appointed time.

Can anyone help figure out if it's possible to transfer a reservation number to another person?

I tried to order thru apple and didn't get through, then I switched to ATT.com and got both my phones ordered.

Today I got the reservation number from Apple to complete the order but my ATT order is already on the way.

Can I give this number to someone else to use?

VW was a joke. After I couldn't order through the preorder system at 1:54am central, I called and was on hold for an hour. The woman eventually told me that there was a glitch that no one could order anything if they had an employee discount on their account, which is a lot of people.

She ended up calling me back at 4:30am and we were able to order 4 iphone 6's and still have them deliver on the 19th.

Really happy she called me back.

You weren't able to cancel your order on the AT&T website?

I believe your right, you'll have to walk in & buy to get Verizon or AT&T off contract...by design for Verizon and AT&T of course (get that 2 year lock-in). I've done the same as you with the T-Mobile...will see what the word is on release day before cracking the box open.

Ah, I see that you are correct sir.
My bad, lol- just trying to look out, in case you could change.
As an aside, the phone went on sale here on the east coast usa at 3am.... I somehow slept through my 2:40am alarm & woke @ at 4:45am, went on the VZ website & ordered my 64gb 4.7" white & gold... arrives by 09/19 is what it has listed.

Im sure whe all going to be good with t-mobile version, makes no sense to list a off contract phone and it being locked :p i would be worry if it said Sprint off contract ! lol

I woke up at 2:50 to get setup to order and couldn't get the verizon website, apple.com, or the Apple Store app on my iphone to work. Stayed awake until probably 3:35 and called it quits. Went back to sleep until 4:35 and opened the Apple Store app on my ipad rmini while I was waiting for my coffee to brew and got a reservation number since Apple couldn't confirm upgrade eligibility at the time with verizonwireless. The reservation email stated I would get a follow-up email later to continue with the purchase once they could verify upgrade eligibility.

Just got the notification email to proceed with the purchase. Took a few mins but I got my Space Gray iPhone 6 Plus 64 GB model ordered. Scheduled to arrive 19 Sep.

While not a great online experience with ordering, I am happy with the end result. No waiting in line to purchase/pickup my new phone.

Can't wait to get it. Extremely tired of looking at my 4" iP5.

It was the iP6+ or the GN4 for me when it came to a new phone. I am heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem though with itunes, ipads, iphones, Apple TV3s. I really didn't want to move to a new ecosystem.

Well said, and I agree. Pretty much the same thing happened to me, but I'm on west coast, so I stayed awake until 2:15am before finally giving up.

I was able to preorder a 6 (64gb) from AT&T at about 3:10AM and then I went ahead and preordered from Apple at 3:50AM when it finally decided to work. It's for the same line and I received confirmation emails for both of them.

So AT&T will automatically cancel my order from them? Is it possible to get two iPhones for the same line?

Why are people ordering from multiple outlets for the same line and then canceling one of them? Hedging bets? Seems like that could potentially be screwing folks out of a phone on launch day
