Apple plans to start offering Vision Pro demonstrations at U.S. Apple retail stores on Friday, February 2, Apple said today in emails that are going out to select customers. February 2 is the official launch date of the Apple Vision Pro headset.

The demo sessions will be available at Apple retail stores in the United States. Apple says that demo times will be offered through the weekend on a first-come, first-served basis, with signups to take place starting at 8:00 a.m. on February 2.

It is likely that the available demo spots will fill up quickly, especially in areas with a limited number of Apple Stores, so those interested in testing the headset should plan to sign up early.

Apple plans to begin accepting pre-orders for the Vision Pro on Friday, January 19, with deliveries on February 2. The headset will be available in all U.S. Apple locations on February 2.

The spatial computing concept sounds very exciting. I think that this will be a successful product despite its price tag. In my opinion other items are more of a barrier to product adoption, namely the need for prescription-based optics. I wear glasses, with a pretty bad prescription, and they have changed from the last checkup. Prescription changes could pose a problem for me having to periodically update the hardware. I will wait for the release version where you (I) can keep your (my) glasses on, if it gets done.

Well, there was the Newton, the first portable, the toilet seat, the Cube, the 20th Anniversary Mac. . .But in between all those, many successes. . . I've benefitted professionally and lifestyle-wise from most of them. Though I don't see any immediate "need" for this Vision Pro thing, I DO rather expect a notable new market for it of some sort. I think it's worth the risk for Apple. They've changed the world with their major products, and who's to say that this one won't be added to the list? It's expensive, and pretty clunky, but it's the kind of thing that you have to put something there in order to know how to change/improve it. So here we go. . .

How do I get on this mailing list of preferred customers?! Or is it going out to developers that have already been enrolled in the program.
Seems to be sent to any email used to purchase something from Apple and/or registered to your AppleID.
