I've just had a check on Macsurfer and it appears that Safari 5.0.3 has addressed 27 security holes so I wonder what Charlie Miller (the security expert who creates hysteria with every word he says) will think.

lol @ people who talk about apps not being "native". The only problem with FF now is that you still have to restart the browser to install/enable/disable extensions. It's so easy to move FF profiles across platforms and not having to worry about converting/losing anything.

Safari plus:

  • Stand for the nice Tab Sidebar previews
  • Adblock
  • Click to flash
----> Awesome :D

Still waiting for a plug in like 'Download in Tabs' something. Can't stand the separate download window :rolleyes:

Until Apple fixes the following list of problems with Safari, I'll be sticking with FF.

1. Omni/Awesomebar. Like seriously, Willing to buy one less text input field.

2. HTTP pipelining. Seriously, there is no reason why something from the HTTP1.1 spec is still not implemented yet. (This is also the reason why I don't use Chrome). Once I turn on pipelining in Firefox, it is by far the fastest browser to retrieve pages.

3. Flash support. Why lose functionality for nothing in return (as compared to FF or Chrome). Safari may perform better in benchmarks, but for my usage cases (and I suspect a lot of other people), there's practically no difference, especially now that Jagermonkey is out in FF4b7.

4. Firefox Panorama. It's like an organizable Expose, for Firefox. Still a bit slow right now since I believe it's not hardware-accelerated on Mac, but it will be and that will be a killer feature.

Since the update, Safari seems to be a bit laggy after startup, but then settles down. The biggest issue, though, is now I can't get the iSight camera to be recognized when using Facebook. Before the update, I could take a profile picture easily. Now, I can't get it to find the camera. Anyone else experiencing this?
