This is why I think people that pre-order should have got theirs a day early. We ordered first but we'll get ours last on launch day.![]()
My local BestBuy says they are not opening until the regular 10am time.
Yeah, sucks to be you. Let's see, you don't have to get up early, stand in line at some Best Buy in the cold and hope that you are lucky enough to be in a good place in line to get the exact color and model you desire. Instead you go about your day and some nice person from FedEX rings your doorbell and hand you your shinny new iPad. You are not entiltled. You pre-ordered only because you want to ensure that you get you hands on one on lauch day. boo-hoo.

Oh I see Apple,,,, I pre-order and pay almost $900 for an iPad only to have someone walk into an Apple store, Bestbuy, Wal-mart, At&t or Verizon store and have their iPad before mine is even out for delivery. I say Apple should deliver all Pre-orders on Thursday!

FedEx's hub is Memphis, TN.
All Apple products are shipped to Memphis well before the ship date, and FedEx has a contract with Apple to only deliver these Apple products on the requested date (March 16). If FedEx delivers these early, there is a penalty in the contract and FedEx loses money. It's in FedEx's best interest to abide by the Apple contract. Apple is one of FedEx's biggest clients and doesn't want to lose them to UPS.

Why waste money on overnight shipping? Did you honestly thInk you'd get it before Friday?
Exactly. Best Buy probably won't open till 10 but Walmart should already be open at 8 when the iPads go on sale. Maybe the staff at either store could tell you from past experience if they expect a line-up. I've read on other threads that people walked into these stores and did not find a line. Good luck... I hope you get yours.
Yours and everyone who per-orderded too. Apple said they'd deliver on Friday, so there's no reason to be angry over it.
Although, mine is sitting in Middletown, PA.

If getting one early meant that much to you, you should have done what I did - preorder for in store pickup. Of course at that point it was a gamble since the iPad 2 didn't go on sale until 5pm...Oh I see Apple,,,, I pre-order and pay almost $900 for an iPad only to have someone walk into an Apple store, Bestbuy, Wal-mart, At&t or Verizon store and have their iPad before mine is even out for delivery. I hope mine shows up at 3:00; I'm at work till 1 and won't be home until 1:30-2:00 so I'm hopping the UPS guy/girl doesn't show up too early otherwise I gotta wait till Monday.
