How intuitive are these HealthKit apps? Does the 5S have a pedometer built in as well? I love using S-Health on my Galaxy.

Bug in MFP. If you change the serving size of something you've already added, it adds multiple instances of the same data into all of the logs.

I think it's gonna be pretty hard for developers to do HeathKit integration right.

I noticed this as well. Before bed last night I noticed that it said I had consumed 380 grams of protein, 150g of sugar, 550g of carbs, and 120g of fat for the day. All of those counts were way off from what I actually had in MFP.

MyFitnessPal does exactly this. I'm always surprised at the shear number of items in their database. I haven't found a barcode yet that isn't recognized, along with foods at every pretty much every restaurant I've been to.

I've started using MyFitnessPal since Jawbone's last update to the Up app ade the process a disaster on their app.

HealthKit has convinced me to just buy a Withings scale on Amazon ;)

I've also lost all of yesterday's data from HealthKit, although it's still in MFP.

Wow this now just happened to me too. I just ate dinner and put it into MFP, then looked into Healthkit and noticed everything has been erased and reset. This has been a pretty disappointing experience so far from Apple.

I believe this may actually be an issue on MFP's part. I hope so anyway.

On the plus side, MFP pulled in my steps from today and calculated the calories which is pretty cool. I assume it will do the same after just using Carrot (which is pretty cool!).

There are endless possibilities for what can be done by apps sharing data with each other via HealthKit. Apple has created a pretty amazing platform here.

Once we have all existing health apps updated to use HealthKit, as well as the many new apps which come into existence thanks to HK—and the Watch to tie everything together—we're going to have something very special.

Does anyone else feel they have been (or soon will be) pushed over that edge from telling yourself "I really need to start exercising/eating better" to actually doing it?

I got all my data back last night by simply adding a new item to my Health dashboard (Health Data > Show on Dashboard) and looking at the settings for all the items I'd already got showing on my dashboard (not changing any of them), after that I noticed all the other missing data was showing on the dashboard again. I'm not sure which step made them reappear and it may have been coincidence of course, but that's all I did - no resetting anything, no swapping sources in Health.

As an aside, I know it's only a couple of days since iOS8.0.2, but where are all the app updates? I had assumed that the likes of Nike, Jawbone, Withings, Fitbit etc would have had their new apps ready weeks ago and that Apple would have rushed them through approval to showcase HealthKit, presumably ready for iOS8.0.0. So 10+ days down the line where are they?
