Super disappointed I cannot order a space black stainless steel case with a black sport band. I don't really care for the $449 link bracelet, but I do want the space black stainless case.

Duh. Why do you think they're charging more for it and including that band? So they can make you pay $400 more for something you wanted.

I really wish that Apple would set their preorder start times to be more convenient for Americans. It's fairly inconvenient on the west coast and REALLY inconvenient on the east coast.

This comment is going to create a sh--storm about how us Americans think we deserve special treatments, especially from the Europeans on here.

Not really. Apple is an American based company so it just makes sense for them to cater first to Americans.

Looks like a ton of interest in this release! Am I the only one that is going to wait a year and get the next generation? I'm thinking these are pretty spendy coupled with being the first generation.
I'm betting we will see significant improvements in the next round.

You're assuming that it will be on a yearly upgrade cycle. There have been pretty reasonable arguments made as to why it won't be.

I really want to buy one but I am still finding trouble with cause. I really don't think glancing at my wrist for texts or email is worth it unless voice dictation is like STELLAR. I'm going to want to reply from there. Grrr..

I am enjoying the heck out of my new 13" Force Touch MBP though. I sold my late 2013 15" and it paid for this new one plus put some cabbage in my pocket. I really like this size. The performance is perfect for my casual computing life. (with a touch of hard core now and then)

/shill

At this point in time you CANNOT reply to emails from the watch!

I agree, but this is not what I've experienced on multiple other threads. Every time someone even mentions the US, there's always some BS "Why should be US customers be treated better?" comment, usually by a European.

It would be cool if there was some way to do a rolling release at midnight in each time zone. But there isn't a practical way to do that with online sales.

Even if you could do that, the United States would be the last timezones to be released — it might be sold-out by then. Of course, if you live in Australia, you'd probably be okay with this.

Sort of the like when Apple starts selling a new device in a different market while there are still wait times in the US. There's always someone (usually from the US) who says that everyone in the US who wants the device should be served before any other country gets even one.

I just don't understand...

I really cannot understand why some of you are going to waste your money on this horribly overpriced piece of tech. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Apple fan. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars on Apple products in my lifetime, but I just don't understand how they are getting away with the pricing on these things. I have money. I live very comfortably and could easily waste money on their most expensive watch. Money is not an issue for me. I refuse to give my money to Apple for even the cheapest version of this watch. I just don't see what all the excitement is about.

PS: I'm not making personal attacks on your choice to buy this thing. I hope you don't take my post personally. I am just sincerely confused at what the excitement is all about. Yeah it looks cool and wouldn't mind having one, but for the price... I just don't see it. Especially when you add in the cost of any of the bands. I truly hope you find value in the decision you are about to make.

Apple is really going overboard this time. It's almost kinda embarrassing that people are actually going to pay the prices that Apple has set on these things

Can you buy the sport watch and use bands other then sport bands?
That's what they say. However, if you get a stainless steel band, the metal won't match the aluminium case (and I'd think the steel might tend to scratch the softer aluminum). But they should all fit — I'm thinking the leather loop bands would look nice on the Sport Watch. Also, I'm sure there'll be plenty of nice 3rd party bands.

That's what I was hoping to get the leather band with the sport watch. Guess I will find out shortly. :)

Some people are early adopters, others aren't. There's not a lot of logic to it.

I'm sure in a couple of years the watch I order tonight will end up on the shelf next to my MessagePad 100 and my original iPod. And I'm okay with that.

I'm replacing a Pebble watch whose band conveniently snapped in half this week, giving me a sign from the universe that it was time to get a new watch :)

I agree. The pricing on this is pretty high and since it's Apple, the only chance of a discount we will get is a) refurbs or b) when Apple Watch 2 comes out (which I assume will be significantly more thinner) or c) authorized resellers.

Well, the sports watch comes with the "fluoroelastomer" band. You should be able to order the "leather loop" band separately for $150 US (assuming they're available for pre-order).

My plan is to order the black Apple watch sport and wait to see what other bands become available. Some reviews said the fluoroelastomer band is very comfortable, but I suppose band preference is a very personal thing.

Apple Tv Failure #2

Could somebody explain me why one would need a watch if he/she has it on their phone?
Could somebody explain me why one would like to read emails on a 1" display?
Why would one put on himself a device that is twice as thick as iPhone 6 plus?

I think I'm going to buy one and then sale it Or return it. I can then use that ml one towards moto 360

So $499 for the watch, and it doesn't even come with a band? And $449 for a band? Are they kidding? I love Apple but they have totally lost me on this one. Insanity.

Honestly the reason I want one is 1) I don't own a watch and 2) I don't feel the vibration of my phone in my pocket 95% of the time. Apparently I have terrible nerves in my thighs. So I would use it as a notification thing for me to pull out my phone.

Bonus 3) I have the money for it.

People are still moaning about price? Jesus, $349-$999 is a totally normal price for a watch, and at $349 it's one of the cheapest products Apple has ever released.

Good luck to everyone pre-ordering, hope you get the model you want with fast delivery times
