I really cannot understand why some of you are going to waste your money on this horribly overpriced piece of tech. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Apple fan. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars on Apple products in my lifetime, but I just don't understand how they are getting away with the pricing on these things. I have money. I live very comfortably and could easily waste money on their most expensive watch. Money is not an issue for me. I refuse to give my money to Apple for even the cheapest version of this watch. I just don't see what all the excitement is about.

PS: I'm not making personal attacks on your choice to buy this thing. I hope you don't take my post personally. I am just sincerely confused at what the excitement is all about. Yeah it looks cool and wouldn't mind having one, but for the price... I just don't see it. Especially when you add in the cost of any of the bands. I truly hope you find value in the decision you are about to make.

Apple is really going overboard this time. It's almost kinda embarrassing that people are actually going to pay the prices that Apple has set on these things
I get 75-100 phone calls a day as well as a multitude of text messages and emails. The ability to glance at my wrist and see if the notification warrants my attention without having to pull my phone out of my pocket is priceless.

The thing about change is that it's gonna happen with or without *you*.

I'm just interested in seeing if apple really can really sale anything with their brand label on it. From business perspective it's impressive. The watch gott mediocre reviews already, 7 of 10 on the verge. People Don't seem to do research before a major purchase

Other than the Edition models which are clearly priced as luxury fashion items, and the steel link bracelet, everything else is at least fairly reasonable. The Sport at $349 is actually one of the cheapest products Apple has ever released.

Well, I think it was David Pogue that said the Apple Watch is the best smartwatch to date, but it's not for everyone.

A lot of the other smartwatches are similarly priced (or just slightly less), but the Apple watch really has a lot more features. Whether it is useful enough to be worth the price is up to the individual. It's not essential and it's not for everyone (and from what I tell from your post, it's probably not for you).

I'm with you though — I hope people understand what they're buying. It's such a new thing, there's bound to be a lot who discover the Apple Watch is different from what they were expecting.

Read the reviews in their entity. All of them. You'll see most of the gripes are things that will surely be tweaked in software updates in the near future. Overall the reviews are generally favorable, but admit it's just not for everyone.

OK. So you don't understand. What is it you want from us? Why are you here. Do you want to be convinced? Of course not. I'm sure you have things that I wouldn't want for any price. I would suspect you have better things to do than waste your time here. Unless of course you just want to harass and try to rain on everyone's parade who do have a reason to buy.

You are making personal attacks.

Thanks for the value judgements you are placing on everyone here. Who appointed you God?

Because the Watch does exactly what the people buying it need it to do. It isn't rocket science.

It clearly doesn't do whatever it is you need it to do. So, you aren't buying one. That makes sense.

Now log off, go to bed, and quit bothering the rest of us.

Thank you so much for being so very smart and clever and trying to protect us from ourselves. If I need protection, I'll seek it from someone who isn't so arrogant and egocentric as you seem to be.

Just been to my local Apple Store and have to say the watch is much cleaner and smaller than I imagined, since the product shots are all massive. It made me appreciate the design a lot more than I did from press shots.

The Shanghai Huaihai road store also has 8 gold ones on display - thats over $80,000 of bling under glass! I guess this will be the same as all the other stores though.

Still not sold on it though, especially after the reviews.

The retina Macbook was lovely though! I didn't care about the shallow keyboard travel, but the oversize keys are initially a little off putting. It really is like a scaled down version of my Macbook Air.

Not that I care for the 'gold' one, it's a nice touch that the screws on the bottom panel are brass.

Let me get this straight. You can't even put a decent sentence together, but you are criticizing the rest of us for spending our own money the way we see fit?

Yeah, that makes sense.

Super disappointed I cannot order a space black stainless steel case with a black sport band. I don't really care for the $449 link bracelet, but I do want the space black stainless case.

Supposedly you will be able to. There was a discussion on Reddit a while back about people who chatted with Apple's Online Store personnel and they said that the different combos will be available for purchase.

But you're paying upwards of $700 for that privilege. You can buy a Pebble and still have that functionality.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the sales numbers are like for the pre-orders if they release them. I think they will sell a lot, but I also think people are expecting them to sell many more than they actually will. I think outside of the sport series, the watches are overpriced, but I think many will still make the purchase regardless. To an extent this is kind of reminding me of the original iPhone release. A lot of people are skeptical, it's a big deal for those who are interested in the product and who are big Apple supporters and it will put up good numbers, but not mind blowing. The real question will be if they can continue to improve and grow the product like they did with the iPhone.

You could have had that years ago with a cheapy plastic Pebble!

Anyway, I hope the refresh Gods are with you all today & you all manage to bag the Apple watch you desire - Good luck to each & every one of you!

The Verge gave one of the most critical reviews on the Apple Watch. We'll need to wait a few months to see how the masses feel.

I believe it was the Verge that pointed out a regular watch is quicker to read since you don't need to wait for it to turn on. No doubt this is true, but then the Apple Watch does a lot more than just give you the time. I'm going with the theory that some will conclude the Apple watch frivolous while others find it a useful tool. It's seems to me that wearables are the future — the 1st ten Apple Watch may not be the ultimate wearable, but it's most significant advance to date.

I'm sure English is a second or third language for the poster.

Pebbles are IMO ugly. I did see what a smart watch can do when I bought a Moto 360 and paired it with a Nexus 6. .....but I couldn't hang with Android and the Moto 360 was laggy and kinda buggy.

Scared

I really hope this isnt like the iPhone 6 preorder. This "we'll be right back" page is so frustrating. My friend was on it until 3am and never got in. I dont understand why they cant figure this out with all the cash they have. Also, why would they release the MacBook the same time? Even more concerning is that with the phones many people go to ATT or whatever carrier to purchase as well relieving stress on the Apple servers. Let us pray

How is the preorder going to work? Are we going to pay tonight if we're picking up in store?

I need to use like 5 Apple Store gift cards... I'm worried about how that's going to work out with thousands of people hitting the servers tonight...

Your screwed. You might be able to call after you order and change the payment option.

So, we're not allowed to be here unless we want to buy every single Apple product they ever release and say only good things about them? We can't voluntary say that we choose not to buy it?

That's kind of small-minded of you. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, and everyone has the right to do what they want with their money.
