Ahead of the "California streaming" Apple event later today, the online Apple Store has gone down in preparation for the launch of the iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7, and possibly the third-generation AirPods.

Apple typically takes down its online store hours ahead of a product launch to prepare the storefront for the new devices. Like the past several events, today's Apple event will take place digitally and will feature pre-recorded segments from Apple Park, streamed on Apple's website, via the Apple TV, as well as on YouTube.

MacRumors will have in-depth coverage of Apple's event across our platforms, including a live blog on our website and live tweets via @MacRumorsLive on Twitter, so be sure to follow to keep track of everything Apple announced.

The Upside Down
Does that mean we might be able to pre-order or order certain products right after the event? They usually take down the store for only order-related changes, right?

For me:

Definite: 13PM at the end of next month most likely. Over my old urge to pre-order the instant, it goes live, will wait a month.
50/50: new Mini 6. Was 100% going to get the new mini, but I really do dislike the touch ID in the power button of my air 4. It is the least reliable.
Definitely not: AW7. My 6 is going just fine, so will wait for the 8.
Definitely not: Airpods 3. Loving my pros.
Definitely not: new macs. Got 2 M1's last year, and air and a mini, so no need to upgrade for me this year.

Not due to this, but I expect the AirPods 3 to be on sale after the event. Phone and watch Friday morning as usual. Just a guess obviously.

Why do they have to take the whole store down for a new product?

Edit: this was a joke in reference to the comment above me
Because their store is still stuck in 1995.

Taking an online website down for HALF A DAY to add a product or too is ridiculous. Could you imagine anyone else doing this?
