Calm down everyone. They need to take the store down in order to put up fancy photos of the iPhone 13 so it doesn't look like it is straight out of 2017 from a design perspective 🤣😂

I am not really feeling the big interest this year. Perhaps it is that I am getting older, but if I do buy one of the 13’s, it will likely be down the road.

Apple should offer the animated "be right back" apple logo as an iPhone wallpaper!

The site is still up, just the storefront where they stream the event has the splash screen posted in the article,

The hype is real. Imagine being one of those fools that just bought an iPhone 12 a few hours ago 😁
I have a 12 Pro. My neighbor has long-admired the photo quality. This summer, he was desparate to order one and I told him “at this point, you might as well wait until September.” He did and is pretty pumped. Looking forward to him ordering. 😀

My wife is really on the fence in regard to the 13. She has the Xs Max. Can anyone comment on how significant they see the differences between the 13 Pro Max and the Xs Max?

Huge difference. Might be the game changer because of 120HZ screen, camera upgrades along with the battery life.

Upgrade, for sure!!!

I smashed my Series 4 watch about a week ago. How convenient! I'm excited for the Series 7 debut.

As much as people love to talk about refresh rates unless I am actively using a pen/pencil on a screen I see 0 difference to my eyes when using 60 90 or 120Hz when just scrolling sites/apps.I feel like this is just a numbers hype to me unless you are doing games/art.

Plot twist: "Our new phone is unapologetically nostalgic. Its cameras are all 480i, black and white. In addition, with the next iOS update, all iPhones - old and new, used or not - purchased as of today will have their camera resolution downgrad... made nostalgic."

The differences are probably quite significant, but the question is: does she actually need what the differences provide her, for the price?

Remind me to not ask you to come with me to look at new monitors, TVs, tablets, or phones 🤣

It will make a huge difference playing video games, scrolling through safari, tiktok, Instagram and so much more.

Agreed. Someone I know has just received a Samsung S20 FE as a present and the difference in scrolling is very noticeable when I come back to my iPhone 12.
I'm keeping the Fold 3 since I was using the 12 Pro Max and a 5th gen iPad Mini daily, and I wasn't impressed with the iPhone 13s rumored upgrades, but I think the 120Hz display will be an excellent addition to the new iPhones.

I happened to be in the US before the keynote once and told everyone I ran into at the apple store "dont buy it today, dont buy it today, dont buy it today" :D

Missed opportunity. You should have told him you would be selling yours in September, at $100 below retail price.

Nah. At least not before 2+ years.

Scrolling is the main point, yes you will gain some comfort here but that's almost it atm.
Almost all video content (camera app, social networks, movies, shows, video call etc) are 60 FPS at best. So using a 120Hz display, your display will just adjust to 60 Hz.
In game it can be for sure very convenient too but it's worth for competitive games and at this stage, i don't see many top quality competitive games in iPhone, for those gamers it will be a big change but serious gamers tends to be on others platforms due to obvious lack of GPU performance and comfort (screen size, ergonomics of a keyboard/controller etc)

Don't get me wrong 120Hz is a welcome feature but
1/ It's long due and the bare minimum for a phone with a four digit MSRP in late 2021 given current competition
2/ It's will not be properly exploited the major time you are interacting with your screen since video content in 120 Hz is very rare and streaming service/video content of any social networks (Netflix, YouTube, IG, TikTok etc) will not at all prioritise this kind of compatibility since few camera/screen support it yet and it will increase a lot the cost of their own infrastructure while providing little value for them and users.

In short you will benefit from 120Hz mainly when scrolling in interfaces/menus or playing, not when consuming video content. It's not like a gaming monitor or any tactile display to draw when the 120Hz IS game changer to improve your accuracy.
