For me:

Definite: 13PM at the end of next month most likely. Over my old urge to pre-order the instant, it goes live, will wait a month.
50/50: new Mini 6. Was 100% going to get the new mini, but I really do dislike the touch ID in the power button of my air 4. It is the least reliable.
Definitely not: AW7. My 6 is going just fine, so will wait for the 8.
Definitely not: Airpods 3. Loving my pros.
Definitely not: new macs. Got 2 M1's last year, and air and a mini, so no need to upgrade for me this year.

See there's this – which is all well and good – but then there's Apple's RDF (admittedly weakened since SJ) which alters rational thinking when the new hotness is introduced.

There is no reality distortion field anymore. That magic of the keynote is gone. I do like how they have new people in the keynotes often, some of them are better than others, but it keeps them fresh. I'd be happy if they cut down the length on them all to under 30 minutes though. In the days of 30 second TikToks, 2 hours for a WWDC keynote is just too long.

"online Apple Store has gone down in preparation for the launch"

and somehow when I refused to do the same because I was too sleepy, the wife accused me of being unfair

Does that mean we might be able to pre-order or order certain products right after the event? They usually take down the store for only order-related changes, right?

the last couple of years they have had NON-iPhone related products up for sale after this event, including in the last two years the Apple Watch went up for immediate order. The iPhone has ALWAYS had a delayed announced preorder time the Friday morning following the event, so I doubt iPhones will go up for sale today.

Ack. Haven’t been tracking this, will have to research. Have you tried obvious stuff like rebuilding the initial scans?
Have to rebuild the scans for the touch ID almost every time I use the iPad. It's annoying to the point where I just defer to my mini 5, or even my still great recently revived Air 2.

Yikes! I guess that’s why there’s supposedly no use of this feature on the iPhone.
I find it really annoying to use and just end up typing in my passcode most of the time. It's in an awkward spot on the iPad itself, and it.....just......doesn't......work. Maybe I have dry skin, or whatever, but it's just not as good as the old school touch ID.

That’s a bummer. Whenever I use my iPad mini 5, I am reminded why I like Touch ID over Face ID.

It is for hype, not for a technical limitation.
I think that the secondary reason is to prevent mistakes by those in charge of the store. It’s not unheard of that a web page is released before the product announcement by mistake. Even if on for just a few seconds, with all the eyes looking at the store, the leak would spread quickly.

As others have said main products like the iPhone and Apple Watch are likely to be open for orders on Friday. Usually Apple updates the store for accessories like new watch strap / case colours that be ordered today.
