All of Apple's current products have become commodities. There is no need for Keynotes, hype, etc. for commodities. The next version is just expected, or in the case of the MacBook Pro, way overdue.

If Apple wants a big splash and if Cook wants to be believable, then Apple has to pop something new out of that fabulous pipe-line. Personally, I don't believe there is anything in the pipe-line that I am going to want to purchase. Hopefully, that will NOT be Cook's legacy, but it sure looks like it right now.

What sort of changes are you anticipating in the MacBook?

I would like the keyboard to be updated to the second generation butterfly mechanism. I would also like new BTO configurations. I think its incredibly stupid that you can't get the M5 in the base, but you can get the M7. I'm sure there are other little things they can tweak as well. Battery life, graphics, speakers.

I'm hoping for the best. However, I have a beast of a new PC build spec'ed out and ready to purchase. I think I'm ready to make the jump if Apple doesn't throw a bone to the pro users in the next few weeks.

Yah faster, even better Tru tone if possible, also better speakers and battery life. I don't need a whole new thing but refine further what's already there.

The speakers are already great on the 12.9" iPad Pro I have not complaints with mine. Depending on how big a difference the wider colour gambit is along with the other teaks and updates will determine if I buy a new one. But then the 10.5" idea does have me interested in waiting so we will see. It could be that nothing is released tomorrow and the Apple page is simply down for actual maintenance.

I mean, it has to be a mac mini...right?

edit: thanks for the edit mods and post delete. you guys rock.

Also a higher end 16GB Ram option is rumoured for the 12" MacBook.

Yah well idk Apples website doesn't usually go down unless something changes. Although idk I find it hard to believe any new iPad will drop during then but I would expect new MacBooks and hell maybe they'll do a MacBook Air refresh 1 last time. I do expect more $100 price drops across the board atleast on the MacBook Akr it should be starting a $799 not $999 the MacBook should start there

Faster than the one that's already in the current 12.9" iPad Pro? I might be tempted if it's got all that along with a faster processor and the 256GB because I use a lot of storage on my iPad Pro but I might hold off until we see the 10.5" iPad Pro which will be at an event not a silent update I'm not even convinced we will see updates tomorrow. Apple might decide to group the iPads all together and announce them at the same iPhone event. We might get spec bumps to the 12" MacBook Pro that usually happens around April and they have also been rumoured to be getting a high end 16GB Ram option which they could announce without an event.
Since I use iPad for painting, faster processor means bigger canvases.

It would be hilarious if we generated 40 pages of comments and it ended up being technical maintenance.

No doubt. I can see the internal memo stating that someone errored on the Apache log config so they need to bounce the daemon to correct it.

Then again, maybe they are releasing more stickers for whatever their new ad is toting.

Very disappointed if there's no press event, as there's quite a lot to be announced. Personally I'm most excited for Macs but I think the iPad refreshes will also be interesting.

I'm personally hoping for SSDs on the (retail) Mac Minis. I would've gladly forked over extra for this, given the night day/difference between the performance my 11" Air and my current mini. 8GB of Ram (what I got now) and a 256GB (or larger) SSD would be the sweet spot.

On an unrelated note, my retailer of choice (same one where I picked up both the aforementioned machines) has moved the mini to 'order-only', dropping the price on the lowest-level config by nearly $100

If they are silent updates with a press release they won't be massively interesting as not much will change but considering that I'm thinking about getting a 12" MacBook for around the house and travelling it would be great if they were to spec bump the 12" MacBook tomorrow :)

People are probably going to be disappointed. It'll be some storage increases or spec bumps only. Don't expect new products. No way the 10.5 iPad Pro is coming as that would merit an event.

The last few "events" have been complete snore-fests. Apple would be wise to forego events for product refreshes and keep them for new, innovative products that people can actually applaude without being forced to.
