I know the dollar has been unstable for the past few weeks but that doesn't mean that Apple gets to charge us mexicans the same price for a MacBook Air. The MacBook air costs the same as the iPhone 4S 64GB!

I just realized that Mexico is the only country outside Europe that is getting the iPhone 4S next Friday, we usually get Apple launches with New Zealand.

Who knows why we have been left out this time round, never has made sense considering that NZ falls under Apple Aus and we are run by them but Apple Inc does strange things.

With the disaster that was the iPhone launch last year, I suspect Vodafone NZ tried to play hardball with Apple and were told to shove it. Telecom look to be an all Android operation now, which is very sad.

If 2degrees managed to get an iPhone deal and had some reasonable iPhone data plans, they would clean up. There is no love for Vodafone here anymore.

Certainly not from me.

+1 voda ***** is to expensive now :(

Yeah I've heard of them and looks great indeed. The problem is I'm stuck with Proximus because last year I signed a contract that I would get €15 monthly, and for the first twelve months I'd only have to pay €5/month. I don't know how much it would cost to break that contract.

Well I have one of these Generation MTV contracts with Proximus for €15 a months, but with the 2GB data pack at €35 and some other charged they conjure up it always seems to be €70+ on the bill.

So I figured that they could only fine me on the basic €15 for contract termination and in that case after two or three months on Viking I'm saving.

So I jumped and we'll see if Proximus try to charge me.

YESSSS - ordered. Havent gotten their final shipping date info yet, but it said 3-5 days with standard shipped after order was received.

Does that possibly mean that I'll get it today + 3-5 days from now? One can hope :-D

Edit:
And just as I hiot reply I got the email. Delivery to my address somewhere between November 3rd and 10th for a phone ordered the 22nd. So not too bad vs. standing in line at a shop that most likely has 2 phones for 500 customers

The iPhone 4S are all sold out in Singapore's Apple online store. Real crazy demand here. They come available for a few hours and are sold out again. Those that need the phone are going to either have to wait for the carriers to sell them on the 28th or wait for Apple to stock them online again.

Why India is missing from this list .

Following last week's launch of the iPhone 4S in the first batch of seven countries, Apple is set to debut the new device in 22 more countries next Friday, October 28th. Apple's online stores in many of those new countries began taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4S today, giving customers in the new markets the chance to join the queue for delivery. The new launch countries include Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Apple does not operate online stores in all of those markets, however, and thus the new pre-orders for unlocked iPhone 4S models through Apple are only available in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Customers in other countries and those looking to purchase subsidized units on contract may be able to arrange for pre-orders through their local iPhone carrier partners.

Rather than promising October 28th delivery for iPhone 4S pre-orders in the new batch of countries, Apple is currently citing shipping estimates of 1-2 weeks. It is unknown if Apple is planning to meet the original October 28th date or if availability will slip slightly in the face of strong demand in markets where the device has already launched. Apple announced opening weekend sales of four million units for the iPhone 4S, more than double that of the iPhone 4 last year.

Well I think Telecom got their ass handed to them after the last launch when they started twitting they had it, Vodafone is rubbish and I just tell all my clients to get it online from Apple, my 2Degree's plan is way better than what Vodafone give even including the outright purchase price you have to pay.

My guess is that it's a function of supply and demand. If I recall correctly, Nokia used to do very well in India selling $30-$50 handsets. While the lines aren't as long in the US and other initial launch countries anymore (now that it's been out for 8 days), I'm guessing that Apple timed country releases to ensure that there was sufficient supply in the countries where they were likely to sell out in large quantities. Apple has an outsized market share in virtually all its products in the US, with the UK, Canada, and Australia right behind. Thus, they'd rather get a few hundred thousand extra devices in those countries on Day 1 rather than open them up for sale in India right away.

Any updates so far?

I've purchased the 4S just a couple of days after the opening (on sunday).

There hasn't been any updates so far to the shipment status: still "Processing items", so no way I'm getting the phone on 4th.

Anyone can see any updates in their orders?

BR

I ordered mine on the 24th and it says shipped and I got an email yesterday saying it should arrive on or before the 3rd.
The whole thing went from processing to shipped on the same day so I guess its possible

I've ordered on 23th but still no changes so far... Maybe it's because I'm in Spain (who knows).

I'm tempted to go to an apple store and "if" they've got the iphone cancel the order...

It's a 64GB.

I got the first update on friday night and it's arriving today!!!

Out for delivery!!!

Good thing is wednesday is bank holiday in Spain, sure enough what I'll be doing all day long.
