Me too. I have every box from every Apple product that came in one, and I do keep every single bag from the Apple Store. I still have the very first bag I got a few years ago, which is the old translucent blue bag with the silver logo on it. Cool stuff.
Apparently, the Apple Store bags make really good beach bags - something to do with the way they're lined, makes them good for keeping dry things dry and wet things away from everything else...

And yes, I've got the box to my 2G iPod (love that cube) and my iMac box. Since I basically knew the contents of the enclosed literature with the iMac, I gently opened the sticky plastic bag in which it was contained, took what I needed (including an Apple sticker - I'm saving the rest for the moment), and sealed everything back up again.

Just opened my iMac box for the first time since June, and it still smelled wonderful...

And no, my 2G iPod didn't come with stickers - this must definitely be a recent thing.

And to add to that, you can wear them like a backpack. The older one that I have only has the pull handles at the top. Only the newer white ones have the backpack style straps.

Does anyone else keep all of their Apple boxes?

Even two identical AirPort Express boxes?
I keep everything everything everything everything everything everything that's Apple packaging! Then on cold, rainy days, I spread them all on the floor around me, with a nice glass of wine, and I reminisce! ... and yes, the packaging is a bonus if selling on eBay (yet, it would be much like selling off one's children, when everyone knows it's better to eat them.) :p

I've got the boxes to all my Apple stuff. They make awesome boxes.

The guy I got my Lombard from sent it to me in a TiBook box. I believe it was an 867MHz. I kept it, too.

Hmm, I wonder if I can find a Lombard box on eBay?

am i the only wacko that keeps the bags as well (from the retail stores)?
Ok, not only am I guilty of keeping ALL of it, including rolling the bags into the box that the bag came in; I'm so bad, I'm still posting to this old thread...

I have the box for my Blue + White G3 and the monitor, my PowerBook, my iPod, my Airport Extreme, my Bluetooth mouse, and all of my software. Throwing out anything with the words Designed By Apple In California emblazoned across it seems a little... sacrilegious .

It is ok, read the line following it.. "Made in China".

LOL, speaking of bags... I purchased a Harry Potter game just so that I could get a white with silver strings bag at the St. Louis Apple Store. I also usually ask for the largest bag they have despite the size of the item I'm purchasing. Hehe.

I also keep my Apple boxes. It makes the items worth more on eBay! Most of my smaller Apple boxes (AirPort Express, Tiger, iLife, etc) sit on my bookshelf.

I got one of the special iPod Nano carrier Bags when i bought my Nano, thats pretty sweet, im definatly keeping a hold on that, BTW the nano box is sweet too,

As corny as it may sound, it was the Apple packaging on my first Mac that made me know I'd be a Mac user for life from then on out.

The Flat Panel iMac G4's had just been introduced, and having been a Windows user all my life and never purchased a Mac before, I just decided to buy one on a whim. I got it, and before I even turned the thing on, I was blown away by the attention to detail. If the packaging it comes in is designed this well with this much attention to detail, imagine how the computer must operate.

I always keep the packaging from my Apple stuff too. I'd feel bad throwing it out :)

I remember my Powerbook g4 box it was awsome smelled great, I especially liked Final Cut studio apple products have such quality to them you can still smell the new mac smell on my powerbook even now :) :)

Everytime we buy an Apple product the hubby sits in awe as he opens the box, and then proceeds to make comments on how beautiful the packaging is. He then keeps the packages they come in so he can continue to admire their beauty. Very strange...

i do.
i even had 2 airport express boxes @ one point
:)
then i sold one

I sold mine, to the kinds of people on the OP -- the ones who love the boxes but don't care for the contents. More money to buy more hardware...:)

Same here with my iBook boxes! I can still smell the new smell on my iBook, but every now and then I take out the box to get the original smell of it. There's just something about that smell....

I even liked the bag from the Apple Store that my powerbook came in. Sturdy, had the double straps the length of the bag so it could easily be carried over a shoulder.....

Me, too!! I LOVE the Apple bags! Yep, I not only save the boxes, but the bags, too. They just have so much more "quality" to them than your basic Gap bag or grocery store bag. While I'll readily put trash and used kitty litter into a Gap bag, Borders bag or grocery store bag for setting out at the curb, there's no way I'd sully an Apple bag that way!

I haven't kept all the boxes but I do have my iMac box, my PB box and the iPod Nano box. I can't find the one for my 5G so I don't know if I accidentally threw it out or if it's just misplaced around here somewhere.

And, mmmmmm.....that delicate hint of fresh Macintosh apples that wafts out from a newly-opened Apple product package.....

*Runs to other room to take a sniff of my PB box and my iMac box!*

and the new half size boxes for the macbook pro! so fricking awesome! i am looking forward to the new ibooks just for that. apple is really learning the value of minimilist packaging. for example: ilife, iwork, .mac, all thier ipods and accessories.

There is a guy at my school that uses the bag for a backpack, he has been using the same one for 2 years.

Yes I have all the boxes for my apple products as well as the bag they came in.

Apple does have some of the best packaging. There's always an inside joke here when people buy new macs to smell and admire the packaging. Apple wraps it up like a present.

My only complaint is that the iPod packaging is slowly declining in bulid quality and "specialness."
I agree, I just picked up a 1 GB nano yesterday and was shocked that the earbuds came in a solid white plastic envelope and not the classic clear plastic with shiny metallic backing. I actually like a lot of the new packaging, the nano box is tiny and same with the Mac Book Pro box.
