"Other areas of the campus are off limits."

I am curious about these other areas. Can someone send their drone to the campus to these restricted areas and post some video of it?

This wasn't publicized at all, but from the very first plans deposited and downloadable from the city of Cupertino, it was clear that the campus is completely fenced off. Yes, 75 acres of landscaped park space are completely inaccessible to members of the community.

Cupertino should have negotiated a better deal with Apple for some accessibility to trails crossing the campus. This would be similar to today's situation at all other Apple facilities, where you don't (obviously) have access to the buildings, but their surroundings are open.

This is like Disneyland for Apple fans. They should offer guided tours to the main building and to the inside park only for real fans that have buy almost all their products. :apple::):apple:

If you can go to the Vatican gardens for a guided tour, why Apple can't offer this. They could charge a good amount and only real fans could have access.

Viewing that amazing building from the inside park would be one of the best things for anyone even for non Apple fans.

I always think about how many secret places that building have. I am sure Steve Jobs order the designers to build a secret bunker and other places below that huge building where all the Apple treasures could be safe even in the most hardest times.

Why do so many people feel the need to bring up Apple “going broke”? Lol...

They’re close to being the world’s first trillion dollar company, 10 years later still have lines outside their stores for new iPhones and the list goes on.

They’re doing just fine...
[doublepost=1510956575][/doublepost]

Seems like their sales are doing just fine though...

Exactly. The cost of their products has zero to do with the cost of their facilities. Supply and demand. Simple economics. The market drives the price. Apple's revenue and profit enable them to build fancy buildings simply because they've succeeded at creating and multiplying wealth.

They are doing very well. I don't think anyone disputes that. What I find worrying is that in less than ten years, they've begun to show this smug arrogance that suggests they will be at the top forever . History says they won't. Some day someone else will come along. They always do.
I expect that Apple in 40 years will be unlike Apple today, just like Apple today is not much like Apple 40 years ago. Perhaps in 100 years, Apple will be gone, or a pale shadow of its former self.

Nothing lasts forever. Some things last a remarkably long time. Buddhism, Judaism and Christianity have had pretty good runs. In terms of companies, Ford, Coca-Cola, and General Electric still seem to be going strong. And companies like CIGNA and Citigroup are close to 200 years old now.

History says many companies will fail. It doesn't necessarily say that Apple will fail in 10, 20, or even a hundred years. Perhaps something will come along to eclipse the iPhone (I kind of agree that's likely). Our kids may look at mobile phones the way we look at boom boxes and transistor radios. And maybe Apple will miss out on whatever that thing is. But it may not matter, because when that happens, Apple could be a media and services company.

Is the visitor center located inside the ring of Mothership?
Definitely not within the fortress; it's freakin' across the street! At the corner of Pruneridge & Tantau avenues. The building is labeled in Apple Maps now.
As a previous commenter noted, virtually the entirety of Apple Park is fenced off and inaccessible to the public.

Hmmm...they should add a ride through attraction that tells the story the way Hershey does at Hershey Park. :D

I will assume that a majority of the folks visiting this forum own an Apple product. So, in effect, we have collectively financed this beautiful piece of architecture and the thousands upon thousands of employees that Apple has hired to work there. Then, of course, there is all of the tax revenue that the city, state, and federal government gleans from this highly successful company.

More times than not, I'm quite critical and cynical of Apple, but I most certainly see no reason why they shouldn't have such an iconic facility.
I suppose I've compensated them a few times, but I also stopped buying around 2012. Do I still count as financing the new office?

Ugh. Well that was a dumb decision to place it outside the Spaceship campus. The vast majority of tourists, global Apple admirers, and Apple fanboys who would make a pilgrimage to the Spaceship campus actually want to be inside the campus, even if their access to the other 98% of the campus is restricted. What a wasted opportunity for Apple brand fandom.

Is there a secret room where all the innovation used to be kept to which the key has has yet to be found ....
The keys were found in 2008, and then 1500 duplicate copies were made and handed out to 1,500 Chinese leakers.

There are no more secrets. They are leaked from China at least 8 months before Apple ever intends to announce anything.

Knowing Apple, they will eventually have some type of drone defense, such as a vectored EMP cannon or some net launcher. Apple likely does not want people to know what secret projects they are working on, as much as we would like it.

Um, you remember the concept of K.I.S.S. Right? Much easier and less expensive to close the drapes/shades/blinds and uses far less electrical power. Heck it works with one droid or a hundred droids invading the airspace.

Due for a San Francisco visit in May next year. 100% on the places to visit, already calculated Uber fee.

Calculate Lyft pricing as well Uber isn’t the only game in town. Price competitive.

Note that Apple Park was designed with the environment in mind and is likely the most environmentally conscious, energy efficient large construction of its type (large office building) in North America.

Ahem, they world! Not just N.America. This is the first corporate office headquarters for any corporation in the World 100% powered by renewable energy and contributes to the city grid!

Apple is making an environmental statement with this building and business are taking notice and adjusting their plans for future offices: Google and Amazon have taken notice.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll check them out. Uber is coming out about $90 each way.

What company just allows strangers to walk around the grounds of their office complex? Especially one like Apple’s.

I’m sure most people understand that. Maybe they’ll do GUIDED tours eventually.

Have they really, or is that just the current trendy perception? Take any decision they've made that you see as evidence of their recent "we're on top forever" smugness, and I wouldn't be surprised if you can find a comparable decision from 15 years ago when they were the underdog.

From what I can see, Apple _really_ hasn't changed at all. To an almost bizarre degree considering the decade they've had.

People just have short memories. And the current cool thing is to rag on then because they're super rich. I mean, super successful.

But people have always complained about anything Apple has done. Nothing's changed.

Actually, everyone has always complained about anything and everything that anyone has ever done.
