This has its use cases, but it has its flaws too. If you want to adjust the angle of the monitors, for example, you have to move the feet. If you have two different monitors, you don't have any independent vertical adjustment to align them. The patent filing also decries the footprint other monitor stands occupy, but they work on a lot of desks where this won't: with this stand the edge of the monitors can't over hang the desk, and you will lose any space you had on the sides of the monitors. As far as I'm concerned, desk space beside monitors is more important than space below monitors, and the footprint of this design is massive. Lastly, while I doubt this would be a problem with an Apple designed stand, lesser versions would have some major sag at the center hinge. I'm not the target audience though. if you have miles of desk space, identical monitors, and piles of money, this would look pretty cool (if Apple decides to make it).
